00:00Nelson's Column, a towering monument located in the centre of Trafalgar Square, was erected
00:06in 1843 to commemorate Admiral Horatio Nelson's victory at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805.
00:14Standing 52 metres tall, the Column is crowned by a statue of Nelson himself watching over

00:20At the base of the Column you'll find four majestic bronze lions sculpted by Sir Edwin
00:24Lancia which have become an iconic symbol of British naval power and history.
00:29Trafalgar Square, surrounding the Column, is one of the most popular gathering spots
