00:00I was on a four-day voluntary service for Syrian refugees.
00:10My first choice was to visit any refugee camp around the region.
00:13I came across a school that catered to Syrian refugees' children.
00:17I entered a classroom where children were listening to sad music being played on a system.
00:32The children had their eyes closed and the pain and agony etched on their innocent faces
00:37was plain to see.
00:39They attained the school run by volunteers and Good Samaritan.
00:43Watching from the window of the classroom, I could see some kids had tears in their eyes.
00:54The class they were attending, called expression class, lasts for 45 minutes.
01:00Some of the stories you hear from the 8 to 12-year-olds is horrific.
01:18Bunaat al-Mustaqbal has around 760 plus students who pay nothing for education.
01:24The objective of establishing this school is to help educate the new generation.
01:34Although most of the teachers are volunteers, those running the school are doing as much
01:39as they can to keep it going as well as help the teachers who are refugees themselves.
01:45In comparison to other schools that are supporting Syrian refugees, Bunaat al-Mustaqbal is relatively
01:50better equipped.
01:52However, any help is highly welcome to help build a better future for these children.
02:00As I walked away from the school, my heart was filled with sadness for these innocent
02:04children but at the same time, I was proud that they were eager to pursue their education.
