00:00Centre Bali was started back in 2006 by Prince Cecil of Lesotho and Prince Harry of the UK.
00:24Centre Bali itself, the name in Sesotho means forget me not, it was set up and established
00:29in memory of both their mothers. Harry went out to do his gap year in 2004, fell in love
00:34with the country and also with the plight of so many of the vulnerable children there.
00:38So by 2006 they decided to join forces and set up a charity essentially focusing on the
00:44most vulnerable children in Lesotho. We have a fantastic programme, it's called a Mama
00:48Hato programme. Mama Hato is Prince Cecil's mother's name, so Queen Mama Hato, and the
00:53programme essentially focuses on children living with HIV. We provide psychosocial support,
00:58care, just all the support you'd expect to put around a child when they have such a difficult
01:03illness to cope with. And the purpose of tonight is to help us build a specialist Mama Hato
01:09children's centre in Lesotho, where we'll be able to reach four times as many children
01:13as we currently do with our programme, because we'll have purpose-built facilities and just
01:17the right environment to support children in a way that will allow them to build their
01:21knowledge, their understanding of their condition, and their confidence in their peer networks
01:26and all of those things that children so desperately need.
