00:00Aquaventure Waterpark at Atlantis-la-Palm is undergoing a massive expansion that will
00:13feature a number of world's firsts, including the world's largest diameter slide, the world's
00:18first vertical banking family ride with a double hump at the end, and the first double
00:23slide within a slide experience, allowing tube riders on one ride to watch the other
00:27riders dramatically in action suspended above them.
00:30We're adding a series of new revolutionary rides that will enhance the waterpark experience
00:36for our guests.
00:37We've got four different ride experiences going on a brand new 40-meter pyramid, bigger
00:42than our first one.
00:43These new ride experiences are all a little bit different and add to an overall variety
00:48of ride experiences.
00:49We have two six-passenger ride experiences.
00:51We also have two sets of body slides, one that defies gravity and one that you can race
00:57your friends for time.
00:58The one that you can race your friends actually goes through one of the other slides, one
01:03of the six-passenger slides.
01:05The six-passenger slide that it flies through, this is the first time this has ever been
01:09done.
01:10It's the biggest fiberglass in the world, biggest fiberglass tube.
01:13It's 10 meters across.
01:15The other slides fly right through the center of them and are suspended.
01:18Again, this is another world's first, never been done.
01:21So while the first people are riding in their six-passenger boat, they'll be able to look
01:26up and see you riding through the body slides above them.
01:30And the fiberglass, the slides that they're riding through, that you're riding through
01:33is translucent.
01:34So they'll actually be able to see you riding through it.
01:38Once complete, the 17-hectare water park will feature two enormous water slides, including
01:43a soaring 40-meter tower, the Tower of Poseidon, packed with heart-pumping rides that will
01:48be unveiled in August 2013.
01:50It will also feature over 18 million liters of fresh water to power an array of water
01:55as well as a zipline circuit providing an exhilarating sky-high experience, the longest
02:00river ride in the Middle East at 2.3 kilometers long, with tidal waves and pools, water rapids
02:06and white water chargers.
02:07The reason that we decided that this was important was because we know that Dubai is growing
02:12again.
02:13We know that Dubai is on the upswing.
02:14We know that the Palm is starting to become much more of a tourist destination and that
02:19there will be more demand.
02:20We feel that if we build it, that people will come to it and enjoy it.
02:25We won't disappoint anyone with big crowds and long queues.
02:28This will help us to provide more ride time, which is really what everybody wants when
02:32they come to a water park.
02:33The development also includes two family rides, which will make it possible for groups of
02:37up to six people to share the adrenaline of the ride together.
02:41There will also be two rides that will allow racing and competition between their devil
02:44friends.
