00:30Because times have changed, you know, those days have gone by that you come to a place
00:33and just shoot a song and go away.
00:34It should have a realistic reason for being there.
00:36So if there is a suitable film, I'm sure Romaan is very beautiful and Musker is pretty, inshallah.
00:41There's a film which I really like, a friend of mine has written, he was in film school
00:45with me.
00:46So it's called A for Apple, B for Billy, C for Kutta.
00:48So that's a very interesting film about Delhi and it is not a Don or a Ravan, it's a much
00:56simplistic film dealing with daily life and dreams and ideologies of people wanting to
01:02make it big in life, you know, Allah Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman.
01:05But a simpler take, more basic take on it, yeah.
01:07So we're planning to produce that one with Meena.
01:10So let's, yeah, inshallah, by end of this year.
01:12If you count my last seven films, I think it's become a little fashionable to turn around
01:16and say to me, would you continue to do what you've been doing?
01:19To refresh your memory, I would say my last film was Jattak Hai Jaan, which was kind of
01:26different from Ravan, which was slightly different from Don, which was extremely different from
01:32Om Shanti Om, which was not a patch on Chak De India.
01:37And before that, My Name Is Khan.
01:40So if you count the last six films that I've done, they seem to be a little different to
01:44me.
01:45I feel really sorry if people don't think so.
01:46Also, I think a little unfair.
01:47I've been working for 20 years, for me to be sitting with a son who's 15 and a daughter
01:51who's 12 and a half, for 22 years having worked in 72 films, I don't know at that stage if
01:57any of us really sit down and say, oh, if I do shift my gear to run further away from
02:02the youngsters who are catching up on me, realistic as it may sound from the outside
02:06to others, that's what I must be doing.
02:09But I really believe I'm sitting in a car of my own with its own gears.
02:13And as a matter of fact, that car is on a completely separate track from where all these
02:16youngsters wonderfully are running.
02:18So I don't need to be understanding and thinking about that.
02:21I just do my job.
02:22I've been given so much in terms of the work that I've done, that it would be really extremely
02:29small of me to sit down and be competing with newcomers.
02:33In five years, my son might be a newcomer, which does not mean I have said to you that
02:38he's going to be an actor.
02:39I'm just giving an example.
02:40But he would be a newcomer.
02:41He'll be 20 years old and he might be a newcomer in some other field.
02:47So it gives me a little odd thought when people say this, but maybe I'm in a position where
02:53everybody feels that everybody is competing with me, which is a nice position to be in.
02:57And what I do, I do the best.
02:59And I'm sure all the other guys and girls who are working and working with some of the
03:03younger girls, I think they're fantastic.
03:05And inshallah, none of them should catch up with me.
03:08I think they should all be much bigger and better as themselves.
03:12You know, if we play the catching game, then we just become a copy.
03:16I think they should try and be taking Indian cinema forward with their talent, with their
03:20hard work and doing stuff which I did not even imagine that I could do, or the actors
03:25before me did not imagine I could do.
03:27I think that's when cinema grows.
