00:00How do you feel about Dubai?
00:05Me, as a woman, I don't really feel safe in the world.
00:08I've lived in several parts of the world.
00:10I've lived in the States, in Europe, and my last destination is Middle East.
00:15But talking about Dubai, I consider Dubai a bit different than the experience that I've had.
00:20I've never felt unsafe here, in contrast to the other parts of the world that I've lived in.
00:26For instance, Europe or the States.
00:29It's still safe in living in this world.
00:31It depends also on the woman, and we have to be aware also with our environment outside.
00:41And also, we should not motivate some other men.
00:47I do not feel safe living in the world as a woman,
00:50because the society's outlook to women needs to be changed significantly.
00:56When a woman gets raped or assaulted, it's because of what she was wearing, how she was smelling, how did she look like.
01:01It's not because of the men who are sick, or who are mentally or psychologically ill.
01:06When I go to Egypt for a holiday, we're basically locked in the house.
01:10My mother does not allow me or my sister to go out of the house alone, by ourselves.
01:16And this is because, of course, of the sexual abuse cases that we hear about in Egypt.
01:20As we heard, once a demonstration happened by women, particularly against violence or sexual abuse against women,
01:28and still they got abused in the demonstration against sexual violence.
01:32It should show the world a little bit that women should be more aware of their safety,
01:37and that society should help women to live in a safer place.
