00:00This is Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which has the honor of being the first device to run Android
00:094 Ice Cream Sandwich. The specs include a Super AMOLED HD, Dual Core 1.2 GHz processor,
00:14NFC support, to name a few, and backed by 1GB of RAM. One of the distinguishable features
00:19is its curved screen design. The volume rocker is on the left-hand side of the device, and
00:24here you don't have anything. And on the right-hand side, you will find the power and
00:28lock key, and this is the docking station. The 4.5-inch screen, with a resolution of
00:34720 x 180 pixels, does not support any of the capacitive buttons expected on the Android
00:40device, but are instead displayed on the actual screen. These new buttons are visible when
00:45needed, but can fold away when doing something like watching a movie, which gives you more
00:50screen real estate. Home screens are limited to 5, and there are no options to extend this.
00:57Normally, in Android, you have 7 home screens. The application menu is divided into apps
01:05and widgets. The contacts are synchronized with Google in the cloud. Making a call is
01:13a pleasure. The phone pad looks amazing in electric blue. One neat element is that when
01:18you get a call, you now have a button that you can drag on to the relevant option. So
01:24you drag it on to answer, ignore, or SMS caller. See, like when you get a call, you
01:30can either drag it on to the answer, or cancel, or SMS. In SMS, you can, there are many options
01:39which you can send it. The voice dictation software is very poor. It did not give good
01:44results like Apple Siri. It looks nice, the actual design on the app is spot on, but it
01:50just can't cope well. Maybe it learns gradually. If there is one element, which is bound to
01:56divide option, is the camera, which clocks in at 5 megapixel. If you take a photo in
02:01daylight, and stand still, it is fine. But in low light or snapping a moving object,
02:07you will be disappointed. There is a lot of color and light saturation. The camera takes
02:13photos unbelievably fast. You tap the capture button on the screen, and before you remove
02:17the finger, the photo is taken and saved. There is also an inbuilt panoramic view. Don't
02:24do it in a hurry. The device has to stitch the photos together, and it takes almost 20
02:30seconds to do this. The video is captured in full HD, and looks fantastic on screen.
02:36Unfortunately, there is no FM radio, or micro SD card slot in this. In the battery test,
02:42the Nexus performed average. It just gave 8 hours of talk time, and 6 hours of video
02:48playback time.
