00:04What did you think when you first read these scripts?
00:06Like, I'd never read anything like them before.
00:09You know, I think anybody who gets the opportunity to read a Mike White script feels that way.
00:13Especially when the rest of the world has no idea what's going on.
00:16And season three of The White Lotus, yeah, it's extraordinary.
00:20Very coveted papers to have.
00:23Yeah, yeah, you feel the pressure of having that in your hands.
00:26I mean, I've worked with a lot of filmmakers over the course of my career.
00:29And once you kind of get handed that, even though it's like your name is blazed across it,
00:36you still feel like, I don't want this.
00:38Like, I don't want the responsibility of this.
00:41And your character's very mysterious.
00:43How would you kind of describe him?
00:46You know, I think he's a person who's been running from his past for a really long time.
00:52He's angry, bitter, and disappointed at the life that he has been dealt.
01:02And there's an opportunity for him, something happens where he's able to look at himself and say,
01:08well, you know, this is my life, but I could have had a different life.
01:11And so he comes to The White Lotus looking for, not answers, but closure.
01:18Yeah, so he is mysterious.
01:20Everybody else's motivations are revealed pretty quickly.
01:25Mine are held back.
01:27It's a slow burn, but I can promise you this, that if you stick with this guy,
01:31there's a big lesson for all of us, I think, that will resonate deeply.
01:36You know, it's like most of the things I do.
