00:00and maybe even some positive news coming on this state of the Senate Resolution 131 in Georgia.
00:07So, I mean, Georgia may take some more time. I personally think it's just my opinion, but,
00:12you know, certainly maybe introducing this bill here in 2025 gives us some hope again for 2026.
00:17Yeah, Georgia is some one of these states that we've talked about a lot in the last couple of
00:22years. They've come close. They've seen things fall apart kind of at the last minute because
00:27of partisan differences. And, of course, especially in a state like Georgia, you need
00:33the Republican-Democratic bipartisanship reaching across the aisle and coming together. And you just
00:40have to look at, you know, presidential elections to see how split Georgia is in that sense and how
00:45much those issues can kind of divide the lawmakers. And that's what's happened in part in Georgia.
00:52The other part is there's two different schools of thought in Georgia. One has been to legalize
00:58sports betting through the lottery, just legalize it as a lottery game that's controlled by the
01:02Georgia lottery. Easy peasy. Some people don't like that, and that's been kind of a cause of
01:08a rift. And this is the other way, which is a constitutional amendment in Georgia, which would
01:14amend the Constitution, allow for sports betting, and that's where we're at. And it would also,
01:20you know, it has to get two-thirds of votes. So, again, a huge amount of bipartisan cooperation
01:25will be needed to get to that threshold. But then it also would go to the voters of Georgia,
01:31which, judging by what we've seen in polls and such, I don't think that's a hurdle at all. I
01:36think it would pass pretty easily in Georgia, unlike what we saw in Missouri, which was a very
01:4150-50 split vote. But, again, this is kind of where we're at. You know, the fact that you need
01:47two-thirds votes, the fact that you have two separate kind of methods that have been thought
01:53about to legalize sports betting in Georgia, and then just the general partisanship in Georgia.
02:01Again, it's come close a couple of times over the past few years. Can it get close again? We'll see.
02:06That's why we watch it. Anything can happen in, you know, these state law paths. And, yeah,
02:13Georgia could be one that gets it done this year.
