12:35Stay with us.
12:40Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is in touch with investors and business people in Dubai.
12:43I want to listen to you and come to ground.
12:47So that I can listen to your very sincere and sound advice.
12:54Absorb your very pertinent suggestions.
13:01And then convert them into actions.
13:32I would like to say that the economy of Pakistan is improving.
13:40The economy of Pakistan is improving.
13:51For example, our inflation has increased by 2.4% in January.
14:04Month to month.
14:06And our policy rate of banks is at 12%.
14:18Our IT exports are growing.
14:24Today, the Finance Minister told me that our remittances in the month of January
14:36has touched $3 billion.
14:39Which is by itself a record over the past many years.
14:46Similarly, our exports have also improved compared to last year.
14:55But these are broad indicators.
15:00After the IMF program, our macroeconomic stability,
15:09Alhamdulillah, has come to Pakistan in a year.
15:15But the journey is long, tough challenges ahead.
15:23And we must keep on walking in the right direction.
15:29And economic growth is now our target.
15:35Easier said than done.
15:38We have 3-4 major areas where we can speed up economic growth.
15:47One is Minds and Minds.
15:50This is generally a G2G corridor.
15:57UAE, Saudi Arabia.
16:01We are having a very close interaction with them.
16:07And Alhamdulillah, Allah has given Pakistan a lot of resources.
16:17Which run into trillions of dollars.
16:21But for the past few decades, we have not been able to do anything about it.
16:28But now, I can say without any fear of contradiction,
16:33Alhamdulillah, we are making a lot of progress.
16:38The second area is the potential of information technology.
16:44Youth is a very big asset for us.
16:4860% of the population in Pakistan are young people between the ages of 15-30.
17:05If we properly train them in IT, AI, for job opportunities,
17:22then they can really turn around our economy through this corridor, information technology.
17:30Provincial governments are also working hard for this.
17:34And we are also trying our best at the federal level.
17:41The third area is agriculture.
17:43Agriculture is an area where Allah has given Pakistan a lot of resources.
17:54Unfortunately, and without going into any kind of political point scoring,
18:01the fact of the matter is that in the last many decades, we have been decadent.
18:09Our per acre yield has been marginal.
18:19We did not introduce modern techniques and technologies to promote our production.
18:26We have three or four important crops, rice, sugar, cotton and wheat.
18:37In all these industries, many countries have surpassed us.
18:45And unfortunately, we have not been able to increase our per acre yield.
18:52And we did not introduce modern techniques.
18:58And that is one main reason that we are now lagging behind our neighboring countries in many ways.
19:10Next month, by the grace of God, we are dispatching 1,000 fresh agri-graduates to China
19:21for training in agriculture in various fields.
19:28And the government of Pakistan is funding this program.
19:33And I believe this 1,000 batch of our students from all over Pakistan
19:42will come back from China equipped with modern knowledge.
19:49And this will be very helpful in promoting our agri-production.
19:56And then converting our production into value-added products is another challenge.
20:06And Pakistan is again blessed in this field in more than one way.
20:12Again, in value addition, we have been lagging behind.
20:19So I think these three or four areas, if we really focus on it with complete dedication and commitment,
20:29not only will we be able to compensate for the losses of the past,
20:35but we can move forward with speed and make quick gains
20:41if we really put our effort as a joint teamwork.
20:48Without that, I think we will not be able to meet our success.
20:54This is an established fact, no rocket science,
20:58that it's always teamwork which can transform any society in any walk of life.
21:07I will not take more of your time.
21:11I will now be very happy to listen to your comments,
21:18and then my colleagues will also join in and contribute on the way.
21:25Thank you very much, and thank you once again for your participation.
21:29I'm very grateful. Thank you.
21:36We are now in the United Arab Emirates.
21:38We spoke to the Pakistani traders and investors.
21:41They said that the record is increasing in remittance and exports are also increasing.
21:45Information technology has the ability to move forward.
21:48Young people can be provided opportunities to move forward through the training of IT and AI.
21:53They were told that new technology will have to be adopted to increase revenue.
23:28Thank you very much, Kamil Arif.
23:49Keep watching ARY News.
