00:00Ambassador Barry Goosey, chairperson of the Goosey Peace Prize, has announced that

00:05Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal A. Adiong Jr. will be the first Mindanaoan to receive the 2025 Goosey Priest Prize Award.

00:12This award-giving body often regarded as the Asian Nobel Priest Prize.

00:23A notable leader from Mindanao with a Muslim background, Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal A. Adiong Jr.

00:29will be the first Mindanaoan to receive the 2025 Goosey Peace Prize,

00:34an international award for peace often regarded as the Asian counterpart of the Nobel Peace Prize.

00:40The Goosey Peace Prize, established in 2002, recognizes individuals and organizations

00:47contributing to peace, humanitarian efforts, and social justice worldwide.

00:53It is named after the Goosey family, known for their advocacy of peace and social change.

00:59It is one of the world's most prestigious honors, recognizing individuals and groups

01:05who have made profound contributions to peace, human rights, and global progress.

01:11This award is not just a symbol of achievement, but a powerful affirmation of the values that unite humanity.

01:18Governor Adiong's nomination stemmed from his actions during the 2017 Marawi siege.

01:24His initiatives include peace-building programs, livelihood assistance for affected communities,

01:31and the creation of the Provincial Committee on Women, Peace, and Security.

01:36He has worked to reintegrate former violent extremists into society

01:40through education and community-based initiatives.

01:44Unknown to many, he has done his best to protect his people.

01:50And his political governance is admired not only in Mindanao, but the whole nation.

01:59Another thing is his compassion to the people, how he touches the lives of the people.

02:05Genuinely kind-hearted.

02:07The awards ceremony will take place in November in Manila,

02:12where Adiong will join other distinguished lariats from countries such as

02:17Colombia, Brazil, Russia, the United States, Thailand, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Argentina.
