00:006 out of every 10 Filipinos who are of legal age to vote in the election of 2025 are Millennials or Gen Z.
00:18Based on the data released by GMA Integrated News Research,
00:22almost 48 million Millennials or Gen Z voters will be included in 2025,
00:28which is equivalent to almost 63% of the total voting population or those who are 18 years old.
00:35A political expert described what makes Gen Z different from the older generation.
00:43Witnessed by Niko Wahe.
00:46More than 69 million Filipinos will vote in the upcoming 2025 midterm elections,
00:53which will determine the fate of the country in the coming years.
00:56Voters are divided into different generations,
01:00from the Silent, Baby Boomer, Gen X, Millennial, and Gen Z.
01:07But is it possible for a generation to divide the election results?
01:12Although each generation has different needs and desires,
01:16both are looking for the same goal.
01:20The Baby Boomer, Mang Leandro, wants to be the one who can fight poverty.
01:25Those who can help us when we are in poverty,
01:29and I hope they can get rid of the so-called corruption in each of us.
01:35As long as we are working, we are still poor because of our government.
01:45The Gen X, Mang Jeronimo, is also looking for the same thing.
01:49Those who can do something for the Church,
01:52those who can change our country a little bit.
02:01And those who don't steal.
02:06Donna is a Millennial.
02:08She wants to be the one who is expected at all times,
02:11and not just a photo op.
02:13She can fulfill her promise to the whole country.
02:18The youngest generation to vote is the Gen Z, like Thea.
02:23She doesn't want to be alone.
02:25They are thinking of the people,
02:27and those who are not going to benefit.
02:30They are not the only ones who are going to benefit,
02:31the people should also benefit.
02:33That's how it is.
02:35According to the data of COMELEC,
02:3663% of the total voters in the 2025 midterm elections
02:41are Millennials and Gen Z,
02:43where the Millennials have 34.15% or 25.9 million voters,
02:50while the Gen Z have 28.79% or 21.8 million voters.
02:56But the question is,
02:57will those two generations agree to hold the election?
03:02According to a political analyst,
03:04the election of the Gen Z generation is a game changer.
03:07The number of Gen Z voters is increasing.
03:10The role and the number of Gen Z voters is very important.
03:16So that will be game changing.
03:18This is what can change our political landscape.
03:23Where will the votes of the Gen Z go?
03:26It is possible that the future of the country will also go there.
03:29What's good about the Gen Z is that they know who to choose.
03:34The Gen Z voters are called the digital generation.
03:39They are not only the receivers of information,
03:42they can also be the actors and shapers of technology.
03:50They are also the educators of other age-level voters.
03:56It is clear what the people want,
03:59a just and good leader.
04:02So in the 2025 election, it should be true.
