Transcript
00:00I'm Pissy Hans from Walsall Police and we're here today at Kick FM to introduce our
00:06knife crime prevent ambassadors to Mark Brindley and to do a little podcast
00:13what they've learned about knife crime. So girls, I just want to tell Mark
00:18about you discussed where all the knife bins were in Walsall, didn't we?
00:23Yep.
00:24Can you tell him where you researched and where they all are?
00:27Oh wow, fantastic.
00:30Do you want to start Bella?
00:33In Walsall, the knife bins are in Pack 3 Park, Dead Street, Walsall, WS1 4AN
00:45The James Brindley Foundation bin.
00:49And then another one in Walsall is Spelt Lane, Caldmore, WS1 4H.
00:57And what did we do last week? We read the VR goggles, didn't we?
01:02Yep.
01:03Do you want to tell Mark a little bit about what the VR goggles were all about?
01:07So it was about, we were in a situation where two people were having beef on the
01:15internet and in real life and they were having an argument about something
01:23really little and then knife got involved and then one of their friends got involved
01:28and called like more friends and bigger kids to help out with the situation that
01:35was going on and then it got chaotic and the police came and someone called the
01:42police, we don't know who it was but someone did and then it stopped right there.
01:48Thank goodness, somebody picked up the phone instead of using the phone to watch it.
01:53And you had to make a decision, didn't you, whether somebody was trying to get you to
01:57take the knife? And what decision did you make?
01:59No.
02:00And what decision did you make?
02:01No.
02:02You think that was the right decision to make?
02:03Yes.
02:04Absolutely it was, you both made the correct decision, didn't you?
02:06Yep.
02:07Yep, well done.
02:08So what else have we got coming up? I think we've got a bit of first aid next week, haven't we?
02:15Yep, and I think we'll be going around hanging posters as well of how to prevent knife crime
02:23from happening.
02:24Absolutely, and what are we going to be talking about at the kick-off end today?
02:28The questions that we're going to be asked about knife crime.
02:34Yep, and how are we going to try and prevent it for the future, aren't we?
02:37Yep.
02:38Yeah, perfect.
02:39Do you think it's good that you're doing this in school?
02:42Yes.
02:43Do you think it's helpful?
02:44Yeah.
02:45Do you think it makes you feel safer?
02:47Yeah.
02:48Yeah.
02:49So if every school in the country could do this, do you think that would be a good thing?
02:52Do you think that would go a long way to reducing knife crime?
02:56Yes, this would be a good thing, so it could help stop more people's lives being lost due to knife crime.
03:05Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, do you agree, Bella? Yeah.
