00:00It also made me feel grateful, though, for all the ups and the downs that I've been through
00:05because every one of them has made me stronger and more resilient.
00:10Growth is painful.
00:12Change is hard, but it's actually not as painful as feeling stuck, feeling loaded down like
00:20there's a giant rock inside of you.
00:22Jenny Garth, life coach.
00:25Wise words from Jenny right there.
00:26It really is.
00:27She recently started a podcast about self-care.
00:30It's called Self-Love and Wellness.
00:31She joins us now.
00:32Jenny, good to see you.
00:33Jenny, good to see you.
00:34That's not what it's called.
00:35That's what it's about.
00:36Yes.
00:37Jenny, I like you and your life coach mode.
00:38I've known you for a long time, and now I was like, because you have like that soothing
00:42voice, especially with that little music and stuff, you can take some knowledge.
00:45Before we get into that, though, I know you evacuated during the fires.
00:49How was the family?
00:50How was the home?
00:52Everyone is good.
00:53We were very fortunate.
00:54We got to move back in home, into our house, and everything's okay.
00:57But, thank you.
00:58Good to hear.
00:59And I think it's kind of cool when it happened, you evacuated, you went to your ex-husband's
01:02house.
01:03I love that kind of full circle family moment.
01:05I think that's really special.
01:06It was really cool.
01:07There was something so comforting about it and special.
01:11The girls really thought it was neat.
01:12You know, they were so happy to see everybody together.
01:14We ate together, and we watched the news constantly together.
01:18So it was a good place.
01:19Always those little moments.
01:20I don't know.
01:21That's a neat turn right there.
01:22And you've been focusing lately on your health a lot.
01:26What do you do to maintain sort of your physical health, mental health?
01:29Well, you know, when you turn 50, 51, 52, you start thinking about things a little bit
01:34differently, and there are new priorities in your life.
01:37I've started working out consistently with a trainer for lifting weights.
01:42I feel that that's very important for longevity.
01:46And I just, I'm a clean eater.
01:49I don't eat sugar.
01:50I try to do all the things.
01:52I don't drink.
01:53I try to really, like now's the time for me to take the best care of myself that I can.
01:58It's showing.
01:59I feel like you are glowing and stepping in to this part where you are.
02:02In your podcast called I Choose Me, how is that related to 90210?
02:07Well, most people might remember that it was the line that Kelly said when she was asked
02:11to choose between Brandon and Dylan, and she said, I choose me.
02:15Oh, I remember that.
02:16That was a gangster line.
02:17That was right.
02:18That day, nobody was talking like that.
02:19Nobody was saying that.
02:20And that's what I heard from all the fans, like I didn't know in that moment that I could
02:25choose myself.
02:26You, Kelly, taught me that that was okay, and I've always been really proud of that.
02:31And it sort of came back to me full circle as something that's evergreen.
02:35Like women, we all still need to hear those words.
02:38It's okay to choose ourselves.
02:40It's not selfish.
02:41No, it's important.
02:42It's important, yeah.
02:43They always say put the oxygen mask on yourself first so you can help others, and that's really
02:47the process.
02:48And that way you'll be in a better place for your next relationship whenever that comes
02:50or if that comes, exactly.
02:52You mentioned 90210, and of course, our dear friend Shannon had passed.
02:59Are you talking about that at all on your podcast, or is there?
03:02Yeah, I mean, I talk about Shannon all the time.
03:05She was such an inspiration to me as a young woman just starting out in the business, and
03:09she had a little bit more experience than I did in the very beginning back in the 90s.
03:13And I really always looked up to her, and she taught me to use my voice when I needed
03:18to.
03:19And I will always have that special bond with her, and I miss her so much, so we do talk
03:22about her whenever.
03:23Nice.
03:24Spirit lives on.
03:25Yeah.
03:26Very cool.
03:27And you and Tora Spelling are thick as thieves.
03:28I see y'all everywhere.
03:29I love y'all's friendship.
03:30What makes you two, look at how cute y'all are, what makes this friendship so unique
03:34and so long?
03:35Like you guys have been friends for how many years now, like gazillion?
03:37I don't do math.
03:38Yeah.
03:39I just, that's why I said gazillion.
03:42Yeah.
03:43A long time.
03:44Yeah, so we were sort of like, came together by circumstance, and you just, like a sister,
03:49you know?
03:50That's the way the whole cast is, though.
03:52That's cool.
03:53We're all just brothers and sisters forever.
03:55That doesn't always happen, so I think that is really special.
03:58Yeah.
03:59This is cool as well.
04:00For the first time ever, you're doing a live event to celebrate women, and empowerment,
04:05and all about your podcast.
04:07That's a great panel right there.
04:08Tell us about this.
04:09Kit, you were supposed to be on that.
04:10I was supposed to be on the panel.
04:11I wanted to host this event.
04:12It was supposed to be the weekend.
04:13She was going to be our emcee.
04:14I was going to emcee.
04:16It was the week of the fire, and then it got moved to a weekend that I couldn't do, but
04:19tell everybody, you have accumulated the greatest group of women.
04:23What are you going to get when you buy your ticket and show up?
04:25Oh my gosh.
04:26A day full of information, and fun, and connection.
04:30I love it when a room full of women come together and share their stories.
04:34It's inspiring, and it just kind of picks me up and moves me forward in a different
04:38way.
04:39That's what we're going to do on Saturday.
04:40We're going to have such interesting conversations about menopause, about women's health, about
04:45our mental health, and just really connecting.
04:47I think that's so cool.
04:48Just women?
04:49No men?
04:50You're not in.
04:51Well.
04:52Men are excluded?
04:53You can come.
04:54I want a sympathy invite, Jenny.
04:55Sympathy invite.
04:56That's all right.
04:57How can people get tickets?
04:58Yes, you can go to my website, Jenny Garth.com.
05:01There are tickets there, and also there's the I Choose Me live on Instagram.
05:06Nice.
05:07Good for you.
05:08I'm going to go see what Jenny's wearing.
05:09She's wearing me, the clothing line from ...
05:12Maybe stand up.
05:13It is so cute.
05:14I love this.
05:15Oh, look at this.
05:16Cute.
05:17So you literally chose me to wear today.
05:19I did.
05:20I chose me.
05:21Tell us about the clothing line.
05:23Oh my gosh.
05:24It's so much fun.
05:25It's exclusive for QVC, and I have an incredible design team.
05:28One of my creative director is my daughter, my middle daughter, Lola.
05:32We work together on it, and we have so much fun.
05:34That's cool.
05:35We have clothes that are for everybody.
05:39We have incredible size inclusivity, and our heart and soul goes into every piece we make.
05:44It's just been a blast learning the fashion biz, you know?
05:47You know, it's neat coming from acting and all this.
05:49Now you've taken control, and you're in charge of everything that you're putting out there.
05:53Well done, may I say, with all of that.
05:55Yeah.
05:56I spend a lot of time not having any control over when I worked or, you know, a lot of
06:02different factors.
06:03So this is a good time.
06:04Yes.
06:05One fun fact about Jenny and I.
06:06Do you know how Jenny and I, when we were teens, we did the trapeze together?
06:10You were on Circus of the Stars?
06:12Did we not do the trapeze?
06:13Can you stand up?
06:14Let's try that.
06:15Remember what you have to say?
06:16Oh my god, I'm so excited.
06:17Do something.
06:18Wait, wait.
06:19There's nothing we can't do.
06:20There's nothing to hang off of over.
06:21Drop the trapeze.
06:22Come on.
06:23Yeah, exactly.
06:24No, but remember what you had to say, like, before you jump?
06:26Opa.
06:27Wasn't it?
06:28No, opa.
06:29That's Greek.
06:30That's Greek.
06:31What do we have to say?
06:32Listo.
06:33Oh yeah, listo.
06:34We were like 15.
06:35We were like 15, 16 years old.
06:37Don't sleep on opa.
06:38Hey, next time she's back, we're going to bust out the trapeze.
06:42Guys, check out our friend Jenny's podcast, I Cheat, maybe streaming now on iHeartRadio.
