00:19memories it's crazy because I'm staying at the hotel just you know kind of full
00:23circle moment what I got done with the NFL you know retired I got into
00:28broadcasting I was my first job coming out big job was working calling college
00:33football game CBS College Sports and we did the two-lane game here and I'm
00:37staying in the same exact hotel on the same exact floor and I'm going yo this
00:42is crazy I remember studying and going through my notes and everything so it's
00:47good to be back in in islands you know and having some fun seeing some seeing
00:52some of the guys that have been watching all year it's really cool it's really
00:56it's like a little reunion out here too yeah you got a unique story as well
00:59because for most people don't watch we see in the NFL Raiders Chargers Dolphins
01:02yeah but how did you get there I know the big family and family is big to you
01:05yeah how was it well you know it's a it's a crazy story but you know the
01:09short of it is you know I started playing basketball at a very young age
01:12I grew up in LA Lakers fan I wanted to play for the Lakers I get to high school
01:18and my brother's ball and he played for the Packers for many many years he did
01:22and they were like yo you got to play football I'm like no no no I eventually
01:26said yes I realized that it was hard to play football I started getting fouled
01:30all up on a football field coach like there is no foul you know this is
01:34physicality I quit my dad made me start playing I played and I just took off
01:41from there got to San Diego State had a chance to play with my brother but then
01:44you know got to the NFL as an undrafted free agent and I had to work my and work
01:49my way through so from there a couple of years with the Raiders a year with
01:53the Chargers and then the Dolphins and you know it was just such a cool ride to
01:57think that I almost didn't get that opportunity because I didn't know the
02:01magic and the opportunity that I had in front of me playing football so I give
02:04props to my high school coach Crenshaw High School coach Garrett who pushed and
02:08stayed on me to play football otherwise I wouldn't even probably had a lot of
02:12the opportunities though I have today yeah it's a great story too because we
02:16see a lot of undrafted free agents right make NFL rosters and then have an
02:20impact right we have a great game on Sunday when you look at the Kansas City
02:24Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles just a breakdown for you a prediction or how
02:29you see this game playing out well you know this is one of the hardest ones
02:32because you've got two really good teams here we've seen the excellence for the
02:36Kansas City Chiefs for a very very long time and then you've got this pretty
02:41cool story because we know that the the emotions in Philadelphia can be very
02:45volatile right oh yeah very very high they can be very very low and remember
02:49it wasn't it doesn't feel like it was that long ago where the Eagles are
02:53starting off two and two and everybody was freaking out like get rid of Nick
02:56and he's yelling at the fans and they started to just pick everything else but
03:00credit to Nick you know Sirianni for being able to turn things around and in
03:05the midst of all of the criticism and stay focused I also want to give a lot
03:08of love to Harry Roseman and just how he's been able to collect and pick and
03:13be able to bring in guys who people gave up on there's a theme here people
03:17ready to give up on on how we excuse me on Nick Sirianni right they stayed with
03:21it they believed in it people gave up on Makai Becton right oh he's the first
03:27round bus stayed with it he's now crushing it at that guard position big
03:31reason why Saquon's been able to get the ball out you find all of these themes
03:34across and you see that Zach Vaughn on the other side but when these two match
03:39up the biggest issue I have is no one can stop the two offense that offenses
03:45that the Kansas City Chiefs run you've got Andy Reid offense and then you've
03:49got the Patrick Mahomes offense you know what's the Patrick Mahomes offense
03:52Patrick Mahomes offense is when things break down and things don't go the way
03:56and you're going up against the number one defense it's going to break down
03:59yeah he is the best when it comes to situational football and making things
04:04work and those guys know how to do playground football better than anybody
04:07in the league that's why all of their games have been so close I love Kansas
04:12City Chiefs winning this game and keeping the theme alive yeah 28 21 Wow
04:17Kansas City Chiefs win this game again by one score about that I mean they
04:22better not win three or four score it's 28 21 I got the Kansas City Chiefs one
04:27keep it easier by the way Akbar you know you played the NFL and now it's
04:30obviously a new media game here your transition from the NFL to media how's
04:34that handled it for yourself and also big things in the future yeah yeah yeah
04:37I'm looking to really cool things you know I've been it's really cool I had a
04:41shorter NFL career and then to think that you know I've been hosting American
04:46Ninja Warrior for great 15 years now the course by the way I get up there I read
04:51the course back in 2018 that's incredible 2018-20 and that was really
04:57really cool to do that but it has been so cool to have that experience it's the
05:02longest job I've ever had in my life yep and it's been so fulfilling to be able
05:06to have that to spin off to the talk as well to be able to have those types of
05:11conversation I did a pretty cool show in Fiji you know which was kind of like a
05:15survivor type show like to survive you know that working at the NFL Network so
05:20it's been really really cool to have that and to have that transition the
05:23football shield has really done an amazing job being able to to really help
05:28athletes branch out and do other things since you've been able to make that
05:32transition what piece of advice can you give maybe younger athletes that are out
05:36of the game whether it be across multiple sports that they're looking to
05:40do something else or maybe start their own business and hit a little bit of
05:44adversity what would be the piece of advice that you would give them to maybe
05:47get ahead or get over the hump per se I think a couple of things one I think is
05:52utilize while you're playing utilize the platform that you have with the NFL logo
05:58and the shield because you can get any meeting you want if you are you know a
06:03player of a current roster it's different when you're not on the roster
06:07nobody wants to deal with you but when you're on a roster they want to deal
06:10with you and so you can get any of those meetings so being having having the
06:14ability to have the foresight of what you want to do in the future right the
06:17other part is I think is financial stability and you think all these guys
06:21are making millions and millions of dollars of course they have financial
06:24stability a lot of times you have big overhead and if you have the big
06:28overhead sometimes the pressure is I got to keep it up I got to go rush to do the
06:32next thing and that's part of the reason why I'm even here with experience
06:35because so many athletes you know when they're done in their transition they're
06:40thinking about you know financial security and what to do you know so on
06:44and so forth as far as management not even just athletes I think people in
06:47general so you know with me with being here with experience experience done
06:52this really cool thing you know it's the beginning of the year right now sure
06:55everyone's still in there I have my New Year's resolution and I want to be
07:01financially better and so on and so forth we're experienced got this pretty
07:04cool subscription going on now I've talked about Experian boost before where

07:52a great product yeah it really is a lot of money so I would tell anyone go to
