PAGASA: 3 weather systems to bring rain to parts of the Philippines

00:00At the moment, we are still expecting rain in some parts of our country.

00:09This is due to the effects of the Northeast Monsoon or the cold wind,

00:12as well as the shear line, as well as the easterly, the hot wind coming from the Pacific Ocean.

00:18If we see here in our latest satellite animation,

00:21we can see thick clouds that are affecting,

00:25especially here in the southern Luzon and Kabisayaan.

00:29These clouds are due to the effects of the shear line or the cold and hot wind.

00:35And because of the shear line, it will be raining heavily in the southern Luzon and also in Kabisayaan today.

00:44Meanwhile, here in a large part of the Luzon area,

00:48the Northeast Monsoon is still in effect.

00:53It is also possible to experience light to moderate rains in the eastern sections of the Luzon area.

01:01And here in a part of Mindanao, we can also see thick clouds

01:06that are affected by the easterly or the hot wind coming from the Pacific Ocean.

01:12Especially in the eastern sections of Mindanao,

01:15we can also experience heavy rains due to the effects of the easterly.

01:21Although for now, we do not expect or do not monitor

01:24any low-pressure area or typhoons inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility,

01:29but we still expect that these heavy rains due to the effects of the shear line

01:34will continue in the coming days.

01:37So, double attention to our countrymen,

01:39especially in the areas of Bicol Region, Quezon, and also in the eastern Visayas area.

01:48Let's talk about the weather conditions here in the Luzon area.

01:52Due to the effects of the Northeast Monsoon,

01:54we expect light to moderate and sometimes heavy rains

01:58due to the effects of the windy weather here in Cagayan Valley,

02:02Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and here in Metro Manila Area.

02:08So, it is still possible to experience heavy rains today.

02:11And in most parts of the Luzon,

02:14in Calabar Zone, Bicol Region, and also in Maropa,

02:18we can also experience moderate to heavy rains due to the effects of the shear line.

02:24For the rest of Luzon, in Ilocos Region, and for the rest of Central Luzon area,

02:29partly cloudy to cloudy skies are still possible.

02:33There are only chances of shortness or sudden thunderstorms

02:37due to the effects of the windy weather.

02:40And for the temperature forecast today,

02:43here in the neighboring cities in Luzon,

02:45for Lauag, our maximum temperatures can reach 32 degrees Celsius.

02:49The temperature in Baguio will reach 15 to 23 degrees Celsius.

02:5527 degrees Celsius is the maximum temperature here in Tuguegarao.

02:5928 degrees Celsius is the maximum temperature for Legazpi.

03:02Here in Tagaytay, 21 to 27 degrees Celsius is the maximum temperature.

03:07And the maximum temperature here in Metro Manila can reach 29 degrees Celsius.

03:14For the time being, in most parts of our country,

03:19here in Palawan, Visayas, and also in Mindanao,

03:23due to the effects of the shear line,

03:25we hope that the rains will not continue due to the effects of the shear line

03:30in Palawan and also in Visayas.

03:33And here in the eastern sections of Mindanao,

03:36in the Caraga and Davao region,

03:37we will also experience the effects of the shear line of the easterlies.

03:43For the rest of Mindanao,

03:44we expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies.

03:47And if there are rains,

03:48this is just a temporary shower of isolated thunderstorms.

03:54For the temperature forecast for the neighboring cities in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao area,

03:59here in Calayaan Islands,

04:01the maximum temperatures can reach 31 degrees Celsius.

04:0530 degrees Celsius for Puerto Princesa.

04:07Maximum temperatures for Iloilo and Tacloban

04:11can reach 30 degrees Celsius,

04:1326 to 31 degrees Celsius for Metro Cebu.

04:18And here in Mindanao,

04:20for Zamboanga,

04:21the temperature can range from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius,

04:2524 to 30 for Cagayan de Oro,

04:28and can reach 32 degrees Celsius for Metro Davao.

04:35According to our latest weather advisory,

04:37tomorrow, we still expect heavy rainfalls due to the effects of the shear line.

04:44So, the areas shaded by orange and yellow,

04:47that's where we will experience the heavy effects of the shear line,

04:52possibly due to floods and landslides.

04:56So, tomorrow, we still expect heavy to intense rains here in Quezon,

05:02and moderate to heavy rains in some provinces of Bicol Region,

05:06in Camarines Provinces,

05:08Catanduanes,

05:09Albay,

05:10and Sorsogon,

05:11as well as in some provinces of Samar Provinces,

05:14in Northern and Eastern Samar.

05:17So, be careful, ladies and gentlemen,

05:19here in the mentioned areas,

05:20because we expect that the effects of the shear line will continue,

05:26possibly until Tuesday.

05:29So, there is a high possibility of floods and landslides.

05:40For the conditions of our ocean,

05:43currently, we have a high gale warning,

05:46or warning for high waves in the coastal areas of Northern and Central Luzon.

05:52High waves may reach 6.0 meters,

05:55especially in coastal areas of Batanes,

05:58along with Babuyan Islands,

06:00in the coastal areas of Ilocos Provinces,

06:03La Union,

06:04Pangasinan,

06:05as well as in Isabela and Aurora.

06:07We expect high waves to reach very high seas,

06:11because it is very dangerous to swim,

06:13especially for our countrymen who have small ocean vehicles.
