00:00Good afternoon Sheffield, it's Alistair from the Sheffield Star and I'm speaking to you
00:03from outside Sheffield Magistrates Court where today the 15 year old boy who's
00:06charged with the murder of Sheffield teenager Harvey Wilgoose made his first
00:10appearance. The benches of Sheffield Youth Court were crammed with the
00:14national press today as everyone gathered to see the first appearance of
00:17this 15 year old who has been charged with murder, possession of a bladed
00:22article and one count of affray over this major incident at All Saints Catholic
00:26High School in Sheffield, Granville Road on Monday which was February 3rd. In this
00:31incident Harvey Wilgoose, a local Lather and Baton 15 year old and Sheffield
00:36United fan was reportedly stabbed a number of times and despite the best
00:40ethics of an air ambulance arriving and medics fighting to save his life, 3.30
00:45that afternoon a press conference was held that confirmed that Harvey had
00:48indeed died. It's been a frantic and desperately sad couple of days here in
00:52Sheffield these past few days. The Crown Prosecution Service made its first
00:58statement this morning saying indeed that this 15 year old had been charged
01:01with his murder and straight into it we had his first appearance of court today.
01:05The young defendant, he appeared only to speak his name, he was wearing a
01:10grey prison tracksuit and I think a shared sentiment was how how quiet he
01:15was in the dark and barely raised his voice to confirm his name and address in
01:19the in the in the brief appearance he had in court. In the meantime he is due
01:23to appear at Sheffield Crown Court tomorrow as well, that'll be the Thursday
01:27and then we are hoping to hear when a trial date may be set out and what the
01:32next stage of this process is but it's day three of this incredible
01:39situation happening in Sheffield these past few days. All of the national press
01:44and all of the nation is kind of watching the city right now over this
01:47incident and the the attention can't be understated.
