00:00Those who are abusing the country's tax system and those who are not paying the right taxes will be pursued by the government, according to President Ferdinand R. Marquez, Jr.

00:10And the President's proposed reform is already being implemented.

00:14The result is already visible after the collection of taxes of the BIR of 2024 has increased.

00:20Clayzel Pardilia is in the center of the news.

00:23In every tax that we are paying, we are not only serving the good of the country, we are also building a prosperous Philippines.

00:38President Ferdinand R. Marquez, Jr. encouraged the payment of the right taxes before the start of the 2025 National Tax Campaign of the Bureau of Internal Revenue.

00:50The payment of taxes is important for the fulfillment of the programs of the government that are pushing for progress and providing proper services to Filipinos.

01:01They fund our schools where our children learn. They support our healthcare system. They maintain our roads and infrastructure. They are investments in our shared future.

01:12Last year, the BIR collected P2.86 trillion, which is 13% more than in 2023.

01:22Under the administration of President Marquez, which is the highest in the agency's collection and the first time the target of the Development Budget Coordination Committee was reached in 20 years.

01:36The effective service of the BIR is the result of digitalization, such as the online registration and update system, which speeds up the registration and update of information of taxpayers.

01:50The pursuit of pecan transactions, which resulted in the collection of more than P40 billion, also continued.

01:58The government's collection of more than P100 billion was cut from illegal sales of vape, cigarettes, and other products.
