00:00This week on 7 Little Johnstons, it was Valentine's Day, which gave us some romantic dates, girl
00:09bonding, and one big conversation.
00:11But first, Trent went to an eye doctor to help get to the root of his vertigo, and he
00:15found out he has a condition that could be part of the cause of his blurred vision.
00:18There's a weakened spot in your cornea, and it's almost like a balloon, and if you take
00:21a balloon and kind of push on it, it'll pooch out, and that's basically what you've got
00:25there, just kind of pushing out, causing your vision to be very distorted.
00:30When he came back home to update the family, Amber was busy watching Leighton, one of the
00:33many responsibilities she's been balancing lately.
00:36I'm pulled in five different directions with Leighton and the other kids, and I'm having
00:42to take on a lot of additional responsibility that I was not planning on.
00:47It definitely puts strain when you're trying to finish your clinical internship and still
00:54be a parent to the rest of your children and be a wife.
00:59Overwhelming is an understatement.
01:01Knowing how much has been on Amber's plate, Trent decided to do something special for
01:04her for Valentine's Day, and he wanted to make sure all of the guys in the family had
01:07plans for their girlfriends, too.
01:09Jonah, Alex, and Bryce, I know that they have not made any plans in concrete, so it's important
01:17to sit down and remind them all these girls in our family are busy, and they're special
01:22girls, and we need to do something special for them.
01:24He gathered them in the garage to discuss their ideas, ranging from elaborate to sweet
01:28and simple.
01:29Bryce went sentimental for his, getting some clay for Leighton to make a footprint, and
01:33him and Liz to make a memory.
01:34The gift that Bryce got for Leighton and I for Valentine's Day was super sweet.

04:03A chocolate boyfriend is a perfect boyfriend because they give us no trouble.

05:13Meanwhile, Jonah's girlfriend Ashley was able to come to town for Valentine's Day.
05:17They hit up a local brewery, exchanged gifts, and talked about life lately.
05:21How do you feel about, you know, having a full house again and with a baby and with
05:27Bryce living with y'all now?
05:29It's been a change, to say the least.
05:34I mean, Leighton's a baby, so obviously, you know, the whole house has been flipped
05:40upside down according to our schedule.
05:43Also, they were unexpected parents.

05:50Jonah shared that he and Ashley have talked about becoming parents down the line.
05:53I think whether or not we decide to adopt or have one of our own biologically, it's
06:01something that we want and, you know, carry the Johnston name is something that, you know,

06:07Later on in her visit, Jonah and Ashley had brunch with Trent and Amber, something that
06:11hasn't always gone smooth.
06:13Last time my parents and I and Ashley all had a sit down, it was them advising us to
06:21give it a break.
06:22I'm not going to sit here and say, I don't want y'all to be in a relationship if it ain't
06:25going to be healthy.
06:26But there were times when Jonah didn't have to work a weekend.
06:30You told Jonah, go up and visit Ashley.
06:31You haven't seen her in two months.
06:32And I would tell him, dude, I would have burned up the road to go up to North Carolina to
06:37see your mom.
06:38I understand that my parents today are trying to help, but there comes a point where it
06:43becomes annoying and invasive.
06:46They asked about their future plans.
06:48After Ashley finishes school in her first year of teaching, she wants to move here and
06:51live with Jonah.
06:52And it seems like he'll be living with the family until then, rather than moving out.
06:55When I lived with a roommate for close to a year, him and I had the same headspace.
07:03And it was ultimately the wrong headspace.
07:05We took full advantage of freedom, and it got the best of us.
07:10From how I grew up to now, I've maintained that fear of not being alone, but the fear
07:15of ultimately wanting to have either a companion, whether it be a best friend or just somebody
07:21I trust deeply.
07:23That ultimately is where I thrive, in doing good and having that companion to live with.
07:28Tron explained that he doesn't think it's best for Jonah to live on his own.
07:31I'm really against Jonah living by himself.
07:35And the reason why is because he's been on such a good track record, and he's done well.
07:39I mean, he almost got salesman of the month last year.

08:02Trent and Amber left the brunch feeling like Jonah and Ashley had a plan and were headed
08:05in the right direction.
08:06I do think there's longevity in the relationship.
08:09They are committed to each other, and it sounds like they have a plan.
