00:00So, how do you respond to the accusation, for example, from the Manhattan Institute?
00:05It's a think tank which has reported concerns that Wiki is more hard on right-leaning public
00:13figures than it is on left-leaning public figures.
00:16How do you respond to that?
00:18Well, I mean, when I look at the actual paper there, it's just not persuasive to me.
00:26They don't really marshal all the right kinds of evidence and so forth.
00:31One of the issues is, obviously, Wikipedia will reflect the media, and so to the extent
00:36that we are quoting from major media and so forth, if there's a certain language like
00:42far right that appear more often than far left, well, that actually can reflect bias
00:47in the media, but it also can reflect sort of a current state of affairs.
00:51In other words, the far left exists, and they're talked about quite a lot in the far
00:56right as well.
00:57So, you know, I don't really see that as a massive problem other than sort of more broadly
01:02to say, gee, you know, like the media should probably rein in the way they talk about things
01:07and really strive hard for neutrality.
