How to Create Walls in Revit
Walls are one of the primary elements in Revit, used to define spaces and structures in a building model. Here’s a step-by-step guide to creating walls in Autodesk Revit.

Step 1: Open a Plan View
In the Project Browser, double-click on a Floor Plan (e.g., Level 1).
Walls are typically drawn in a plan view, but you can also create them in 3D view.
Step 2: Select the Wall Tool
Go to the Architecture Tab → Click Wall (Shortcut: WA).
The Modify | Place Wall tab will open with wall settings.
Step 3: Choose Wall Properties
In the Properties Palette, set the following options:

Wall Type:

Click the drop-down menu to choose a predefined wall type (e.g., Basic Wall, Exterior Wall, Interior Wall).
If needed, click Edit Type → Duplicate to create a custom wall.
Height or Constraint:

Select the wall height:
Unconnected (Enter a height manually).
Attach to a Level (e.g., up to Level 2 or Roof).
Location Line:

Defines how the wall is placed relative to the reference line:
Wall Centerline (Default).
Core Centerline (For structural walls).
Finish Face: Interior or Exterior (For precise alignment).
Base Offset:

Adjusts the starting height of the wall from the level.
Top Offset:

Adjusts the wall’s height if needed.
Step 4: Draw the Wall
Click to start drawing, then click again to define the endpoint.
You can use different drawing options from the Draw Panel, such as:
Line – Straight walls.
Rectangle – Create a rectangular room.
Arc – Curved walls.
Polygon or Circle – For complex layouts.
Step 5: Modify the Wall
Move or Adjust Walls: Select the wall and use the Move, Rotate, Align, or Trim/Extend tools.
Change Wall Type: Select the wall and choose a different wall type from the Properties Palette.
Adjust Wall Height: Select the wall → Modify height in Properties.
Step 6: View Walls in 3D
Click View Tab → 3D View (Shortcut: F3).
Use the Steering Wheel or Orbit Tool to navigate.
Bonus: Advanced Wall Features
✅ Attach Walls to Roofs or Floors: Select the wall → Click Attach Top/Base.
✅ Create Curtain Walls: Use Wall Tool → Select Curtain Wall type.
✅ Apply Materials: Go to Edit Type → Structure → Material to change wall appearance.

Conclusion
Creating walls in Revit is simple yet powerful. You can adjust height, thickness, materials, and shapes to fit your design. Want help with custom wall types or wall openings (doors/windows)? Let me know!
