00:45The Agriculture Department lowers the maximum suggested retail price for imported rice from
00:49P58 to P55 starting Wednesday, February 5
00:54This in an attempt to curb the rise of imported rice prices, which remained high despite the
00:59tariff cut from 35 to 15 percent
01:01Starting tomorrow, the MSRP for imported rice, 5 percent, will now be sold at P55 per kilo.
01:14And then by February 15, the MSRP will now be nationwide
01:19DA spokesperson Arnel de Mesa says the agency plans to further lower the MSRP following
01:24periodic reviews
01:26This comes just two days after the DA announced a food security emergency on rice, which enabled
01:31the National Food Authority to release its rice buffer stocks
01:35As of February 1, imported rice prices ranged from P38 for regular milled rice to P61 for
01:40special rice
01:41In his 2022 campaign, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. promised to lower the price of
01:46rice to P20 per kilo

02:16clear list of beneficiaries that involves billions of pesos in public funds
02:21She also says the criteria for beneficiaries were vague, with only workers affected by
02:25inflation or earning below the minimum wage qualifying
02:29Meantime, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong raises concerns about the ACAP's similarities
02:33to pork barrel and notes it is plagued with many irregularities

02:57The committee invited 40 social media personalities, with some submitting excuse letters to justify
03:02their absence, including former Marcos Press Secretary Trixie Cruz Angeles
03:07To Attorney Trixie Cruz Angeles, I respectfully decline this invitation as I question the
03:11legality of the inquiry for being violative of the constitutional guarantee of his speech
03:15Aside from Angeles, the following are slapped with show-cause orders despite submitting letters
03:20This means they will be cited in contempt and ordered arrested should they fail to attend
03:24the next hearing

03:56documents to the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board, or MTRCB
04:01He also mentions the possibility of premiering the film abroad or focusing on streaming platforms
04:05instead
04:06The MTRCB said that the film was not under review due to incomplete requirements
