00:00We're here at Fairwater Rugby Club today to deliver a rugby leaders course. What we've
00:09done, we've linked up with four local hub schools just to come together and deliver
00:13a girls-only rugby leaders course, just to hopefully upskill them and get them delivered
00:17in the community and helping us out with primary school engagement sessions. We do some theory
00:22modules inside, talking about the whole player, whole coach, and then how they can deliver
00:27events for primary schools, and then also we have a mixture of practical then where
00:32they come out, show us how they would warm a group up, playing a few games of touch rugby,
00:37and they all get a chance to do a bit of reference, which is always interesting and fun. And then
00:41we back them up then by, when they have a bit of deployment in the community and through
00:45us through primary schools, we go along with them, just help mentor them and help them
00:50out and just give them some feedback on where they're really strong in. The impact the rugby
00:56leaders programme has is, firstly it develops the young pupils to see the game from the
01:02other side. A lot of them have been playing the game in school already, so it's a great
01:07chance for them to start as a coach and potentially a referee. And in turn, that also develops
01:12the younger pupils in school when they come and help coach. My name's Maya and I go to
01:18Cantering in high school. I've enjoyed that I can do all these courses and learn more
01:23stuff about rugby and coaching and what I can do with it, and I'm enjoying going outside
01:28and just doing practicals. I've learnt what I need to be a coach and how it can help me
01:36and how I need to do this to get qualifications so that I can go out and teach with my teachers.
