Protest in Chesterfield to bring buses back into public control

00:03Hi, I'm Lisa Hopkinson from Better Buses East Midlands.

00:06We're a coalition of individuals and organisations

00:10across the East Midlands Combined County Authority area,

00:13so that's Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Derby and Nottingham.

00:16And we're here today to launch a petition to the Mayor,

00:20Clare Ward, Mayor Clare, to ask her to bring the buses

00:24in East Midlands back into public control,

00:27as they've done in Greater Manchester,

00:29as they've had in London for years.

00:31We want better buses in the East Midlands.

00:33We want them regulated properly

00:35and we want her to start the process.

00:37We want one network, one timetable, one ticket,

00:41so people who use buses in Derbyshire

00:43have a much better service.
