00:00In other news, several civilians joined the Armed Forces of the Philippines activity in Tarlac City

00:06to show their support to the soldiers who are guarding the West Philippine Sea.

00:11Isaiah Mirafuentes has the news.

00:17Major General Ramon Zagala is one of the troops led by the government to the West Philippine Sea.

00:22He is a witness to the hardship of the soldiers to maintain the strength of the Philippines.

00:29It's a very hard assignment because you're far, far away from the mainland and sometimes isolated islands.

00:37But the commitment is there to guarantee that we protect our territory.

00:45In their hearts, the duty they are entrusted with for the future of the Philippines.

00:50That's why today, a private group organized an activity to show support to the troops of the country

00:56who are risking their lives for the country.

00:59Almost 700 civilians and uniformed personnel gathered

01:03and they cycled in the province of Tarlac, which is about 160 kilometers.

01:08They started in New Clark City, near Kapastarlap.

01:11They are fighting for the protection of the Philippines.

01:14West Philippine Sea, we love you!

01:17Among those who joined the activity were Aldrich Dizon and his 10-year-old daughter, Kishan Dizon.

01:23That's the main reason as to why we joined the race or the event.

01:29We wanted to support the national forces alongside with enjoying the ride with the soldiers and the army.

01:42So, it's a pleasure.

01:44And this is not only for the people, but also a big help to their well-being.

01:49They should try sports like cycling, instead of using cell phones.

02:00Because on the bike, you can explore and experience a lot.

02:07Aside from cycling, the Armed Forces of the Philippines also organized an exhibit

02:11to show the civilians the hardships they experienced in the battle.

02:16They are still in uniform.

02:18It's time to try it out.

02:20Because it's heavy, it weighs 50 kilos, along with the weapons.

02:32This shows the support of our countrymen for the armed forces of the Philippines.

02:37In events like this, plus the zeal of our countrymen who joined for this,

02:42we feel that it's the fuel that gives us more power to really fight for our country

02:49and perform our mandate and duty accordingly.

02:52All of these activities will be used to continue the fight for the West Philippine Sea.

02:58The Philippines has come a long way to protect our rights.

03:02But it seems like we still have a long way to go to achieve victory.

03:07As a Filipino, we will show our support, love, and trust in the soldiers

03:13who gave their lives for the Philippines.
