00:00It's it's a move where you actually control the opponent and you put him into a sleep.
00:05Welcome to WatchMojo and today we'll be looking at the most unbelievable instances
00:10of abduction attempts that were thankfully foiled.
00:13The clerk, Manvir Komar, sensing something was wrong,
00:16comes from behind the counter and stops the woman at the door.
00:21Marilyn Ramos.
00:23This surveillance footage from a McDonald's in Los Angeles captured a woman picking up a
00:27lone child and strolling out of the restaurant.
00:30To most people it would seem like another mother carrying her child,
00:34but in actuality the woman, Marilyn Ramos, had no connection to the child
00:39and was attempting to abduct him.
00:40The incident occurred in May 2019 and was only thwarted when a sharp-eyed witness
00:46intervened as Ramos tried to place the boy in a parked car.
00:49Ramos subsequently fled on foot but was apprehended the following day
00:54when police responded to an unrelated incident and recognized her from the footage.
00:58She was taken into custody and charged with kidnapping and grand theft auto.
01:03Four men in black hoodies.
01:05Police say it happened at around noon on Friday.
01:08A woman did manage to escape and suffered minor injuries.
01:12In August 2024, four masked men wearing black hoodies attempted a daring midday kidnapping
01:19in the busy parking lot of a Vaughan Mills mall in Toronto.
01:22Their target was a woman who was sitting in her car,
01:25but orchestrating such a crime in broad daylight has its drawbacks,
01:30as there were several eyewitnesses on the grounds to film the incident and alert the police.
01:35Her feet were like busted up.
01:37She had a few scratches like around her body.
01:39She was able to fight off the guys.
01:40Although the suspects initially managed to snatch the woman,
01:43she later broke free and escaped without serious injuries.
01:47About two weeks after the incident, one of the suspects, Jonathan Houston Barat,
01:52was arrested and brought up on six criminal charges, including kidnapping with a firearm.
01:57How many suspects involved?
01:59Multiple. Could be the guys who've been doing it all night.
02:01Closest unit has a five minute ETA rolling code three. Are they armed?
02:05I don't know. I don't know.
02:06Joseph Leroy Ruiz.
02:08It was traumatizing. You couldn't sleep at night. You were just thinking,
02:11what could we have done better to help this little girl?
02:14It is often said that most victims know their attackers, and this case was no exception.
02:19For this Arizona girl, January 26, 2024,
02:23started like any other day as she headed to her school in Glendale.
02:26However, while walking out of her apartment building,
02:29she noticed a man in a black hoodie loitering suspiciously.
02:33Moments later, the man pulled up in a car, jumped out and tried to grab her.
02:37It was just another Friday morning. This 11 year old girl was walking to school
02:41when police say 37 year old Joseph Ruiz tried kidnapping her.
02:45Fortunately, she managed to run away and scream loud enough to scare the man off.
02:50This footage, as well as the girl's description,
02:52helped police identify the suspect as Joseph Leroy Ruiz. Ruiz,
02:57who lived in the same apartment building as his intended victim,
03:00was charged with attempted kidnapping and custodial interference.
03:04Now he's under arrest and facing charges for attempted kidnapping and custodial interference.
03:10Pablo Pintueles Hernandez.
03:12The man and a woman he was walking with finished shopping and proceeded to the register to pay.
03:18After paying, they can be seen leaving in a black Ford Edge.
03:21A December 2023 shopping trip in Florida nearly turned into a nightmare for a mother and her
03:28children when a man allegedly attempted to abduct her son. 64 year old Pablo Pintueles Hernandez
03:35approached the boy, grabbed his arm and tried to walk off with him. Thankfully,
03:38the boy's sister noticed what was happening and yanked him away from the suspect.
03:42Hernandez, who was at the store with his wife, simply continued his shopping and headed home.
03:48However, police were called to the store and within an hour of reviewing the footage,
03:52they identified Hernandez and arrested him at his home. Despite his claims that he was only joking,
03:58Hernandez was charged with false imprisonment of a child.
04:01Deputies say Hernandez was seen wearing the same clothes as in the store.
04:05He was taken into custody and charged with false imprisonment of a child.
04:11Stephen Stowe video of the attempt shows a man yanking the six year old boy from his father
04:17so hard his feet come off the ground. But the father never loses his grip.
04:21On November 9th, 2024, a father walking his two sons down a sidewalk in Brooklyn, New York,
04:27came face to face with his worst fears. 28 year old Stephen Stowe approached the man and his
04:32children and suddenly grabbed one of the boys in an attempt to abduct him. Stowe lifted the boy
04:38into the air, but his father quickly intervened, pulling his son away and pushing back the
04:43assailant. The mother tells us she's proud of the way her husband and son held on to each other and
04:49didn't let go. The two locked eyes for a tense moment before Stowe casually strolled off in the
04:54opposite direction as if nothing had happened. The next day, police apprehended Stowe, a repeat
04:59offender with a lengthy criminal record, and charged him with attempted kidnapping.
05:04I try not to pass judgments because things could be subjective or misconstrued.
05:09Scott blocked the car, ran over, pulled the suspect from the driver's seat,
05:14and held him until police got there. Sometimes the difference between a kidnapping and a foiled
05:20attempt is one good Samaritan. That was the case in August 2024 when 23 year old Andy Bala tried
05:27to abduct a girl from Michigan Park where she was with her aunt and cousin. Bala grabbed her
05:32off a bike and tried to drive away. Bala is accused of attempting to kidnap a seven-year-old
05:37little girl while she was riding her bike with her aunt and cousin at Clinton River Park North
05:42on Tuesday. Sterling Heights police released this video of what happened. But the victim's
05:46aunt sprang into action, lunging through the window to grab onto the steering wheel.
05:50Then a good Samaritan drove up behind Bala's car and blocked his path with his truck.
05:56Bala was arrested on charges of kidnapping, felonious assault, and battery. But it wasn't
06:01even his first attempt that day. About an hour earlier, he had tried to abduct another child,
06:07only to be stopped by another good Samaritan. When I went to look, I saw my niece, Waif,
06:12just running for her life. And I was just like, and then there you were. And it was so quick,
06:16I can't say quick enough, because then there you were, you're pulling him out of the car,
06:19and I cannot thank your program. I cannot thank you enough.
06:23Jose Jaime. I guess he chose to do it when the kids were coming out of school,
06:28and you know, and it's unbelievable. Speaking of intervening bystanders,
06:33one played a key role in preventing an abduction in the Wilmington neighborhood of Los Angeles.
06:38In this surveillance footage, apparently from a ring camera, a girl can be seen returning home
06:43from school while a man named Jose Jaime follows quickly behind her. Jaime eventually catches up
06:49with the girl and gropes her inappropriately before attempting to kidnap her. His plan might
06:54have succeeded if not for an eyewitness who yelled at him to leave her alone.
06:59We just talked to the young woman who gave us the ring video.
07:02She wants to stay anonymous this morning. She helped save that girl.
07:05Jaime reportedly claimed the girl was his niece before fleeing the scene in his car.
07:10He was later apprehended by the police on charges of aggravated kidnapping,
07:15with his bail set at a hefty $1 million. Parents are just totally upset.
07:22I'm very, very high alert right now. I talked to a few parents this morning and
07:26a lot of texts is with each other and everybody's watching out for each other's kids.
07:31Sean Lloyd. The brazen ambush also happened while people are seen walking on the sidewalk
07:37across the street. In September 2019, a young woman was going down a North Philadelphia street
07:43when she was suddenly grabbed by a man. The woman's instincts kicked in immediately as she
07:48fought and screamed until her assailant let go and casually walked away. The incident was captured on
07:54a homeowner's doorbell camera, which police used in tracking down the suspect. A few days later,
07:59they arrested 36-year-old Sean Lloyd, charging him with attempted kidnapping,
08:04stalking and indecent assault. I got daughters. So, you know,
08:08I hope they catch him because that's not cool. Trying to snatch up young girls out here.
08:12Investigators later revealed that this was not an isolated incident. On the same day,
08:16within the span of an hour, Lloyd had allegedly tried abducting at least two other women,
08:21but failed each time. A fourth woman also came forward reporting a similar encounter with him.
08:27When you saw the video, it's probably the second one, right? Probably the second one.
08:31The second one in the series of the four is the one we have yet to identify.
08:36Andrew Pio. It was a piercing scream for help that still echoes in this Anaheim
08:41community. Very terrifying, sad. It appears children are particularly vulnerable to
08:46kidnapping attempts during their commute to and from school. In this case, a girl was returning
08:52home on March 31st, 2022, when a man exited his truck and attempted to abduct her. The man,
08:5930-year-old Andrew Pio, tried shoving the girl into his vehicle in broad daylight,
09:04but was scared off after her screams alerted bystanders. Pio managed to escape until about
09:09a week later, when police spotted his truck, which led to a high-speed chase that ended in
09:14his arrest. When they attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver sped away and a high-speed
09:20pursuit ensued. The pursuit lasted more than an hour, down multiple freeways, ending in Mission
09:25Viejo, when the CHP used spike strips to blow out the tires. As it turns out, Pio was already facing
09:32sexual assault charges involving another young woman in a different country. With kidnapping
09:37charges added to the mix, he faced a life sentence in prison. He's been identified as 31-year-old
09:43Andrew Pio and is being held on $600,000 bail. Unidentified Murrieta, California man. You
09:51couldn't mistake his walk. He had like a funny walk, but not much of it. A regular volleyball
09:56game between a father and his daughter in Murrieta, California, took a frightening turn on May 21st,
10:022023. The father, Michael Angadung, left his daughter outside for a brief moment to get some
10:08water. In that short moment, a man approached the girl and asked if he could see her shirt.
10:13Then, all of a sudden, he lunged towards her, causing the girl to run inside to her father
10:18for safety. What shirt is that? Can I see your shirt? Asking Cassidy what's on her shirt before
10:25lunging at her. Seeing that his attempt had been foiled, the man continued down the street
10:30and disappeared. Although he was caught on neighbor's security cameras, it remains unclear
10:36if the suspect was ever identified or apprehended by the police. Remember me? You remember me. I
10:42live right down the street, down in the greenhouse. Mr. Harvey. Hi. John Marshall Randolph. Employees
10:51at the Coeur d'Alene Parasail in Idaho foiled the attempted kidnapping of a young boy in August 2021.
10:57The boy had been approached by a man named John Marshall Randolph, who tried to take him away in
11:02one of the boats. The parasail staff, including the owner, Jamin Rodriguez, sensed something was
11:08wrong when the frightened boy came up to them and reported that he didn't know Randolph. Immediately,
11:13the kid went around me and kind of hid behind me and stated, I don't know that man and he's not my
11:21dad. When confronted, Randolph insisted that he was the boy's father before turning around and
11:26walking away. Rodriguez quickly called the police and followed Randolph to prevent him from escaping.
11:31He's like, stop following me, leave and go back to your booth. And I was like, no. The boy was later
11:38reunited with his mother while Randolph was arrested by police and charged with child enticement.
11:43Daniel Arroyo Beltran. On March 25, 2020, Daniel Arroyo Beltran accosted a mother and her three
11:51children at a bus stop in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Beltran snatched one of the women's
11:55children and assaulted her when she refused to give up the others. At a gas station in Las Cruces,
12:00New Mexico, a man is trying to steal a pregnant woman's children, fighting everyone who gets in
12:06his way. She was, however, able to escape from his hold and ran into a nearby store where she hid
12:12with her kids. Beltran forced his way into the store, attacking anyone who challenged him.
12:17Things could have gone horribly if not for Kanan Bauer, a high school wrestling champ who rushed
12:23into the store and pinned Beltran down until the police arrived. It wasn't like a move that I did
12:28for practice. I just grabbed him from behind and pulled him down onto his back. Bauer was hailed
12:33as a hero and received international recognition for his efforts. Deidre Gentry. Surveillance
12:39cameras outside an auto repair shop in Sacramento, California, captured the moment that shop owner
12:44Ashraf Ali thwarted an abduction attempt. The perpetrator here, a woman named Deidre Gentry,
12:50confronted two unnamed women who were pushing a baby in a stroller and claimed that the child
12:55was hers. Frantic moments seen in the video as the alleged attacker chases after the two women
13:01walking with a baby in a stroller. The stroller breaking free from their grasp, rolling on its
13:07own toward Ali's shop as he rushes out to help. Gentry chased after the two women only for the
13:12stroller to escape their control and roll into the direction of the auto shop. Ali then got in
13:17between the attacker and the stroller, preventing her from grabbing the baby. But Ali says it left
13:22the victims rattled. They are totally scared and they are crying. So I I said to them, please come
13:30in my office. This is my office. After police were called to the scene, they arrested Gentry
13:34and charged her with attempted kidnapping. Sonny Alloway. It's an attempt so brazen it'll send
13:40shivers down your spine. In December 2019, Sonny Alloway was filmed in a New York City train trying
13:46to talk to an unidentified woman as she slept. Around 2.45 a.m., a man dressed head to toe in red
13:53tries to get a woman's attention as she sits across from him, hood over her head. Once the train comes
13:58to a stop at the station and the doors open, Alloway grabs the woman and carries her onto a
14:02platform bench. We're not quite sure what his plan was after that, but thankfully it never
14:07materialized. The woman manages to escape and runs back into the train, alerting the man she was
14:12with, who appeared to be asleep next to her. The victim was able to regain consciousness and quickly
14:17made her way back into the train before it left the station. Alloway reportedly received a dose
14:22of street justice before he was apprehended by the authorities for unlawful imprisonment.
14:27Unidentified Argentine men. This grainy footage came from a CCTV camera in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
14:34The clip shows a boy, identified only as Sebastian, walking down a lonely street in the
14:39middle of the night. A car pulls up beside him and two men jump out and attempt to drag him into the
14:44vehicle. Sebastian wrestles with the two men and is able to free himself from their hold against
14:49all odds. The boy lets go of his backpack and runs away, foiling their abduction attempt. His would-be
14:56kidnappers get back into their car and also flee the scene. It is unclear if any arrests have been
15:01made in the case since it occurred in 2017. Vin Nguyen. Early on a Monday morning in April 2022,
15:09a boy was walking to his school in Orlando, Florida when he was approached by Vin Nguyen.
15:14A surveillance camera outside a restaurant captured the moment when Nguyen tried luring him
15:18into his vehicle. He allegedly told the child that he was cute and offered to drop him off at school.
15:29Thankfully, the boy declined his offer and continued walking. Nguyen was arrested the
15:34following day after the footage was given to the authorities. It was later discovered that he had
15:38apparently attempted to do the same to another child the previous year. Nguyen was brought up
15:49on charges of false imprisonment, luring of a child, and battery. Sammy Wallace. A routine
15:56shopping trip to the local Walmart took a horrifying turn for Alicia Keating and her
16:00two daughters. While at the Oklahoma store back in 2013, a man named Sammy Wallace grabbed one of
16:06Keating's daughters from her shopping cart and held her at knife point. Police who responded
16:18to other shoppers' 911 call attempted negotiating with Wallace for the girl's release, to no avail.
16:24After about 30 minutes of fruitless negotiations, the assailant reportedly began counting down from
16:3060, stating that he would do the unthinkable when he reached zero. Believing that there was no other
16:41option, one of the officers stepped up and fired a shot right at Wallace. Thankfully, the girl was
16:47unhurt. Henry Oscar Mazariegos Gonzalez. On August 16th, 2019, a girl identified as Estella
16:56was walking down the street in a California neighborhood when she was accosted by Henry Oscar
17:01Mazariegos Gonzalez. The assailant grabbed Estella off the street and tried forcing her into his
17:06vehicle. Surveillance video shows early Tuesday morning while walking down Rutland Avenue,
17:11Estella came face to face with a man in a white truck who police say tried to kidnap her. At some
17:18point, he reportedly struck her in the head with a hammer. After briefly letting go of the weapon,
17:23the brave girl grabbed it and hit Mazariegos Gonzalez, freeing herself from his hold.
17:28I didn't have much arm swing, but I just tried to do what I could. It was enough for him to let her
17:33go, and Estella ran as fast as she could as the kidnapper got back into his white Toyota Tundra
17:39and drove off. Mazariegos Gonzalez remained on the run for nearly a year until he was apprehended
17:44by the police on April 19th, 2020 in Guatemala. Unfortunately, the culprit never faced justice,
17:51as he took his own life in his jail cell before he could be extradited to the U.S.
17:56Esther Daniels. 26-year-old Esther Daniels was arrested and charged with kidnapping
18:01and obstruction of a police officer on June 22nd, 2019. Daniels had engaged in a tussle with a
18:08married couple at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia,
18:12after attempting to abduct their children. CCTV footage from the airport showed Daniels walk up
18:26to the woman and try to grab a stroller with one of her children in it. After the woman manages
18:30to fight her off, she reaches for another child but is interrupted by the father. Daniels tries
18:35to make a run for it, but she's taken down by a group of officers, who later put her in handcuffs
18:40and led her away. Terry Ransom. This terrifying incident happens so fast, if you blink,
18:52you probably miss it. On July 1st, 2016, a mother walked into a cell phone store in Victorville,
18:58California with her two daughters. While she held her infant in her arms, her older daughter played
19:03by the candy machine right next to the entrance. Then, in a flash, a hand reached through the door
19:15and snatched the girl out of the store. That hand belonged to 24-year-old Terry Ransom. Luckily,
19:21Ransom lost his grip on the child and she was able to escape right into her mother's arms.
19:26The would-be abductor was chased down by bystanders, who held him until police arrived.
19:31He was charged with kidnapping and child cruelty. The suspect, Terry Ransom, was then tackled and
19:36held by people until police arrived. He was arrested on suspicion of trying to abduct the
19:41girl. Craig Bonello. For a preteen Florida girl and her mother, this was probably the most terrifying
19:4715 seconds of their entire lives. A brazen kidnapping attack thwarted by a fierce mother,
19:53all caught on tape. The whole scene playing out in a Dollar General store Tuesday morning. While
19:57shopping at a Dollar General store on June 7th, 2016, a man identified as Craig Bonello grabbed
20:04the girl by her arm and violently dragged her away. Without missing a beat, the girl's mother
20:09sprung into action, fighting off Bonello as he tugged her daughter through the supermarket's aisles,
20:15all in full view of surveillance cameras. Her mother doesn't miss a beat. This mom, Ashley
20:20Harper, knows exactly what that woman was thinking. There wouldn't have been, I mean, any doubt I
20:25would have thrown myself on anybody, you know, and now I guess I have to be prepared to do that.
20:30Bonello eventually let go and tried to make a run for it, but he was blocked by an off-duty
20:35sheriff's deputy and arrested. Eventually, the man letting go, fleeing the store, only to be met in
20:41the parking lot by an off-duty officer. Who was off-duty, had pulled into the parking lot just
20:48by chance. He was brought up on charges of kidnapping and child abuse, but was found not
20:53guilty by reason of insanity. Nassim Slamang. In September 2020, a video went viral on social
21:00media showing the attempted abduction of a child at a restaurant in Johannesburg, South Africa.
21:05In the clip, two women are seen sitting together with a young girl at the Bella Napoli Italian
21:10Kitchen. We were sitting outside and there were other customers here. There was a lady with her
21:14two kids and I noticed that there was a guy running. All of a sudden, 24-year-old Nassim
21:20Slamang jumps over the railing and lunges toward the child. Slamang's brazen attempt to abduct the
21:26young girl in broad daylight was, however, cut short by the restaurant's owner, Dishal Suku.
21:31I don't consider myself a hero. People say you're at the right place at the right moment,
21:36and it all comes with preparation. And I think the years of experience in martial arts is what
21:42allowed me to react the way that I did. Suku, a trained martial artist, immediately tackled
21:47the culprit to the floor, placing him in a chokehold while one of the women secured the girl.
21:52Slamang was swiftly arrested by police and charged with multiple counts of assault and
21:57attempted kidnapping. The court has heard the suspect has an outstanding warrant of arrest
22:02and a string of previous convictions. Timothy Todd Milner. The tremendous efforts of a gas
22:07station cashier and customer made the difference between life and death for a woman in Coweta
22:12County, Georgia. Deputies call it courageous. The quick actions of this store clerk and a customer
22:18at a convenience store off Interstate 85 in Coweta County last Friday. Surveillance footage
22:24from the convenience store showed the woman and a man, later identified as Timothy Todd Milner,
22:29walk up to the counter. Deputies say she asked the store clerk for a telephone in an attempt to call
22:34for help. The woman was reported to have quietly asked the cashier for a phone, but after being
22:40handed one, Milner grabbed it from her and threw it on the counter. He then dragged her out of the
22:45building and into his truck parked outside. Noticing the ordeal, a stranger quickly took a
22:50picture of Milner's license plate, which aided in police locating him. Very brave, very courageous,
22:55very helpful. They could have gone about their day and this lady would have been somewhere she
23:01didn't want to be with someone she didn't want to be with. Upon his arrest, Milner was charged
23:05with kidnapping, false imprisonment, and battery. Nathaniel Rodriguez. Most of us do not know how we
23:11would react if we ever came face to face with a dangerous criminal, but Philadelphia convenience
23:16store clerk Manvir Comer knew exactly what to do in that situation. At first glance, you might not
23:21realize anything's wrong here, but this is an alleged crime in progress. While working the
23:26overnight shift on November 11, 2015, Comer stopped the apparent abduction of a doctor by a supposedly
23:33armed criminal named Nathaniel Rodriguez. Rodriguez allegedly kidnapped the lady and was
23:38attempting to withdraw money using her debit card. He forced her to withdraw money from ATMs around
23:44town. Watch as they pull into this gas station and walk into the convenience store. The suspect
23:49gives a friendly wave to the clerk before they go to the ATM. Footage from the store's cameras
23:54showed Comer leaving the counter and confronting Rodriguez just as the two are about to exit.
24:00The suspect then fled the scene in the victim's car, but was later tracked down and arrested after
24:05making use of her phone. The clerk confronts the suspect, who you see reach into his jacket as if
24:10he has a weapon. The suspect then flees in the woman's car. Back inside, the clerk gives the
24:15woman a bottle of water. She's shaken but unharmed. Santiago Salcedo. On October 11, 2021, a woman was
24:23walking by a gas station in the Bronx with her three grandchildren when a man approached them.
24:27The attempted abduction was captured on surveillance video, which police use to track
24:32down the suspects. Partially covered in a blanket, the man suddenly grabbed one of the toddlers and
24:37took to his heels. Initially torn between the captured girl and the other two boys left with her,
24:42the grandmother eventually chased after the abductor. Her grandmother panicking and screaming
24:47for help while chasing him as the girl's younger brother stand by, terrified. Other bystanders
24:53joined in and they soon cornered the man, later identified as Santiago Salcedo, and he lets go of
25:00the child. After riding away on a scooter, police later caught up with Salcedo, who was reported to
25:05be homeless, and arrested him. He was arraigned on charges of attempted kidnapping and unlawful
25:10imprisonment. There were literally a couple of people who chased the guy and who helped us with
25:13the police and everybody, so I would like to take them. And this Bronx mother says that there is not
25:19enough thanks in the world that she can show this group of good Samaritans. Thomas Woods.
25:24Georgeann Baxter was at a Walmart in Bremen, Georgia with her daughter Brittany,
25:28when her worst nightmare nearly became a reality. And the video is stunning, a little girl fighting
25:34a grown man, allegedly trying to kidnap her. Brittany was playing in the toy section by
25:39herself when she was grabbed by 25-year-old Thomas Woods. And then he just dropped me and
25:45went and ran off. Woods, who had just been released on parole after serving prison time
25:51for manslaughter, was captured by surveillance cameras getting into his car and driving away.
25:56Police were able to use this footage to track him to his house, where he was arrested in less
26:00than an hour. Police arrested 25-year-old Thomas Woods, who was recently released from state prison
26:06out on parole for manslaughter. Although he denied even being at the store,
26:11Woods was charged with attempted kidnapping. James McGonigal. It's always particularly shocking
26:17when an attempted child abduction not only occurs in broad daylight, but also right in front of
26:21their parents. That was the case of Jacob Diaz, who was walking down a Queen Street with his mom,
26:32Dolores Diaz Lopez, and two siblings. Diaz was slightly ahead of the rest when a man jumped out
26:38of a parked car and snatched him just a few feet away from Lopez. Dolores Diaz says the men said
26:44nothing to her and she doesn't know them. The quick-thinking mom and her other kids immediately
26:48ran after the man, 24-year-old James McGonigal, and successfully retrieved Diaz through the front
26:54passenger window. McGonigal was able to flee the scene in his car, but he was later arrested by
27:00police on charges including attempted kidnapping and reckless endangerment. One of them, the driver,
27:05has been arrested and was taken to the hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. The other, the
27:11passenger, is still outstanding and police believe the two may be father and son. Manuel Towns. It
27:18looked like something out of a Hollywood action movie. 25-year-old Brittany Diggs had already been
27:23abducted at gunpoint by Manuel Towns, who had repeatedly threatened to kill her. He was like,
27:28well, since you don't have any money, you're going to help me get money. Towns forced her
27:35into the trunk of her car and drove around in hopes of using her debit card to take out cash.
27:40This led him to a gas station in Birmingham where he seemed to have withdrawn money from
27:44the convenience store ATM. Brittany says panic was setting in. My biggest fear was he was going
27:50to drive this car into a river. I'm going to drown here and nobody's going to know I'm in this trunk.
27:55As Towns returned to the car and slowly pulled out of the parking lot,
27:58Diggs popped the trunk using the interior latch and bolted into the store. The Alabama
28:03nursing student made it to safety and her captor was arrested by police about a week later. A jury
28:09convicts Manuel Towns of several charges including kidnapping, robbery, and two counts of fraudulent
28:14use of a credit card. Derek McPherson. The doorbell camera at the Nash family house in Ohio
28:19captured the attempted abduction of one of their daughters in 2022. So proud of her,
28:24so proud of her because as soon as she screamed, he let go. So obviously, you know, it does work.
28:32Kennedy Nash was taking out the trash when a man identified as Derek McPherson approached her and
28:37grabbed her by the arm. The young girl let out a piercing scream, prompting McPherson to release
28:42her and quickly walk past the whole encounter lasting less than 10 seconds. As Kennedy pulled
28:47away and screamed, the man quickly letting go. Kennedy rushed back into the house and relayed
28:52the incident to her dad, Ricky, who got in his car and chased down the culprit. He was later
28:57taken in by authorities and brought up on charges of abduction and inappropriate grabbing. Ricky's
29:02swift chase may have secured McPherson's capture, but it was Kennedy's quick thinking that prevented
29:07the tragedy altogether. McPherson appeared in a Butler County courtroom where he has been
29:11indicted on two counts of abduction and unlawful restraint. Before we continue, be sure to subscribe

29:33from a street surveillance camera in Florida showed the exact moment young Alison Bonnell
29:38was nearly abducted. This shocking video has been played thousands of times across the country.
29:43Bonnell was waiting at a bus stop on the morning of May 18th, 2021, when a white minivan parked
29:48just beside her. The driver of the vehicle, Jared Paul Stanga, was captured running toward Bonnell
29:54and grabbing her as she attempted to scurry away. She fought and she fought and she fought
30:00until finally she was able to break free. Stanga, who was reportedly wielding a knife,
30:05was unsuccessful as Bonnell fought tooth and nail to regain her freedom. According to the
30:10young girl, she was inspired by Law & Order SVU to rub the blue slime she had been playing with
30:16on Stanga's arms. She was playing with blue slime when he grabbed her and she made sure to wipe some
30:22of it on him. That trick gave investigators just the evidence they needed. This helped police to
30:30definitely identify him as the culprit upon his eventual arrest. Have you ever witnessed a
