Indian President Droupadi Murmu kicked off the first day of the Budget session in the Parliament on January 31, 2025. After Murmu's address, Congress party MP Sonia Gandhi made a remark on her speech. "The President was getting very tired by the end...She could hardly speak, poor thing..." said Gandhi. The Congress leader was heard saying "false promises", after which Rahul Gandhi said the speech was "boring". Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned Sonia Gandhi’s "poor thing" remark saying that the Congress had insulted 10 crore tribals across the country.
