00:04even misgivings on the odds of three impeachment complaints filed by as many groups against

00:09Vice President Sara Duterte Carpio. Seems like the impeachment complaints have one thing going

00:15against them, time. Our Mela Lasmana shares how the complaints are tied up with the midterm polls

00:20looming near. Some lawmakers assert they are not neglecting the three impeachment complaints

00:28filed in the House of Representatives against Vice President Sara Duterte. Earlier today,

00:34the complainants organized a massive rally to call for Congress to act on the cases and remove

00:39Duterte from her post. ACT-Bayan Partylist Representative Percy Sandania, one of the

00:44endorsers of the first complaint against the Vice President, insists the lower house should act on

00:49it before the session break.

01:12One wider party's representative, Roger Chavez, said they are well aware of their constitutional

01:17duty. He assured everyone will participate once the complaints are taken up by the committee.

01:31According to House Assistant Majority Leader Ernest Junisio, the complaints will also undergo

01:36a thorough study. To be honest, whether you're in favor or against the impeachment, Congress

01:43really has to act upon an impeachment complaint. So each congressman, you know,

01:53we don't have the same stand in everything. So at the end of the day, we'll really

01:57check the merits of the case. For his part, House Assistant Majority Leader C. Alonto Adjong

02:02reminded everyone the complaints will not only be taken up in the House of Representatives,

02:07but also in the Senate. He stressed the need to consider the time left before the 19th Congress

02:12ends, especially in light of the upcoming elections. Of course, those who are complaining,

02:17they also want to see a possible conviction. If that's what they are intending to see,
