Liverpool boss Arne Slot on the tricky test they have against in-form Bournemouth side who are challenging for the top 4
Melwood, Liverpool, UK
Transcript
00:009 first-team players injured, 11 Premier League games though unbeaten,
00:059 goals in the last two games, beating Newcastle and Nottingham Forest as well,
00:09so how do you assess the challenge that you face this weekend?
00:12Yeah, it's a big one and this is probably going to sound strange,
00:15and I knew this already when we played the second half against them in our home game.
00:20We were 3-0 up at half-time and I was expecting a second half
00:25where we could just control the game, have the ball a bit and maybe score the fourth one,
00:29but they just kept on going at us for 45 minutes, and that showed me the character of the team.
00:35And since then they've been outstanding.
00:38Before that game also, because we were 3-0 up at half-time,
00:42we didn't really match the first half in my opinion.
00:47Maybe we deserved to be up, but not the three goals.
00:50And afterwards they've beaten so many strong teams, and it's a simple reason for that.
00:55A lot of quality created by Richard, of course.
00:59He created our current sports director, who worked there for a few years,
01:04and he hired a fantastic manager as well.
01:07Why is he a fantastic manager? He has a great game plan and his players work incredibly hard.
01:13And then, in a different way than Arsenal, they are also a threat in set-pieces,
01:19so where Arsenal 9 out of 10 times does the same,
01:23they always come up with worked ones that have been very useful for them as well.
01:28So, in every department, a very good and strong team, and they deserve to be where they are.
01:34Maybe they even deserve a bit higher than the position they are in at the moment.
