00:03Well, I think in the house that was you I had a lot of walls up
00:06I was like, this is a show he might be playing me
00:09I've I was in like a really toxic relationship. I was like men suck that
00:13And well, so I was scared. This is like one of my favorite stories from the show. It didn't make the edit of the show, but
00:20Um before they turn on the feeds
00:23They give us like this giant
00:25Charcuterie board for dinner. Like it's it's like ridiculously extravagant
00:30And uh on like 400 bucks. Yeah, it's crazy on the charcuterie board
00:35There's like cut up dragon fruit and you know, I I obviously know i'm like looking at mckenzie
00:42I'm, you know feeling some type of way i'm like, ah, you know, no, she's talking about where she's from
00:48She's talking about what she's into. She's gorgeous
00:50I mean she we'd sat around the table and done intros and I was like this girl's amazing
00:55But I was trying to keep it cool and calm collective
00:58And so I was kind of giving her the cold shoulder, you know, I was gonna let it play out
01:01We're we're, you know, obviously planning on being there for a long time
01:04But she walks over to the charcuterie board and there's cut up dragon fruit on the charcuterie board backwards. Yep
01:11Okay, there's cut up radishes on the charcuterie board and mckenzie walks up and goes
01:16What is that dragon fruit? And I was like, what did you say?
01:21And so that that moment it was like a it was like my end so every time I would I would walk around like yo
01:27Did anybody try the dragon fruit for day and it became like the running joke?
01:31But I was like i've got an end and i'm about to hammer this thing
01:33So for the next couple days, I would walk around and be like anybody seen any dragon fruit?
01:38It's just a mess with her the whole time. So I definitely made the first move for sure for me
01:42I'm just in the house. I'm like, what is this dude's problem?
01:44Like can we drop this charcuterie board skit? I'm like there are so many other conversations we can have
01:50But he just keeps making fun of me about a dang radish
01:53about a dang radish
01:55and but this is like I feel like that is such a
01:58this not just only for you, but it's such a common thing for guys to like the way they try and get in is like
02:04Making fun of it. You get an inch choking buttons and us girls are just like
02:10it's adorable and it's also like but it keeps us it just
02:15I'm just like why that was his in but
02:18Post it was great post show. Yeah post show. So
02:22Yeah, he made all the moves inside the house. I will say that I was very difficult and I know that
02:27viewers know that because they show clips and i'm like
02:31They're like, oh, what was the one comment? It was super funny. He was like, what's one thing nice about me?
02:35And I was like, I really like your calves
02:38yeah, and i'm like that was I was like i've
02:40Trained to on my physique for months to be complimented on my something that's covered most of that
02:46I just figured he never got that compliment before and I thought it'd be funny but out of the house I would say
02:52um, you know, I didn't know
02:54I didn't know where we're gonna be at and I also didn't know
02:57At what extent and readiness mackenzie was going to be after an experience like that. I think connection wise it was me
03:04Yeah, I think yeah, I would say because well, here's the problem. Here's what happens
03:09So after we leave the house immediately cameras cut off boom done
03:13We still don't get our phones
03:15Like the the people that got top three like you don't get your phones for another two days
03:19So thankfully I guess while I was on the season my mom and matt had connected so they had exchanged numbers
03:26So I asked my mom for her phone and I text matt off of her phone and i'm like, hey
03:31Where are you?
03:32Da da da da and when I got that text. I was like boom, baby. We're in we're back
03:38This is about to start we're back
03:41So that that was huge and then from there, you know that that night I mean
03:45We went back to the hotel just sat in the lobby and she had press the next morning
03:51Um, but we just caught up and talked about yeah, you know everything that had happened
03:56I'm sitting here telling her like hey, you know weeks ago. I'm watching you on live feeds being like matt's probably dating some supermodel
04:02And he's probably married, you know married
04:04He's probably engaged and I was like i'm sitting over here like girl i'm waiting on you
04:08I'm waiting to figure this out with you. What do you mean?
04:11so, uh, yeah, we just caught up and
04:14Put a lot out on the table of how we're feeling and what we had gone through and it still took time, you know
04:20but I think that's one thing i'm very proud of us in our relationship is we
04:24Had a lot of the hard conversations and we put in a lot of the work and you know
04:28Like we're we were both at a difficult place in terms of previous relationships going into the show
04:33And so we had our walls up and you know, we're able to slowly let those down
04:38time progress together and
04:41Heal some things in each other that have been hurt and mishandled
04:44I know improperly by others and it's one of my favorite things about what she's been and done for me
04:50um in terms of my relational health and my mental health and
04:54Um, and as a man some of the things that i've i've been through she's healed a lot of it and i've been super thankful
04:59for it, so

05:01It's been a it's been a tremendous and fun journey outside of the show that again i'm thankful we got to do
05:07um and a place where it was just between us and without the influence of
05:12What we could gain from being together, you know, that was never the focal point in the in the goal. It was just to consider how
05:20Something real and genuine could develop within us and navigate it together. Yeah
