Heathrow's third runway could be built and in use by 2035, Rachel Reeves has signalled.Asked for a timeline on the plans, which she backed on Wednesday, the Chancellor told BBC Breakfast: "We want to see spades in the ground in this Parliament."We have asked Heathrow to come forward with plans by this summer, and then we want to grant that development consent order by the end of this Parliament, so we can get the diggers in the ground to get this project up and running."

00:00I think we can get that done in a decade and I say that because we're not just announcing that we
00:06back it, we are changing the way that our planning system works to make it easier to deliver projects
00:13like the third runway at Heathrow. So that's why we've said we want the plans by this summer and
00:20we want to give that development consent order in this parliament so we can get it start building.
00:26Some people say this will take decades, it doesn't have to take decades,
00:30we can crack on and we are determined as a government to do so.
