00:00I'm here at the Highland Hospice Warehouse for, well, preparing for catwalk for a cause.
00:15I heard about the catwalk and I was really keen to attend and I'd mentioned this to my
00:22friend Penny, who'd been involved in it, and she then said, well, why don't you just do
00:27it? So I suppose that's kind of like the initial initiation into kind of like coming along.
00:35I am here because I've got Crohn's disease and I'm passionate about spreading awareness
00:40like the rest of the contestants for catwalk for a cause. There's a variety of illnesses,
00:47cancer, breast cancer. I'm here because I've got Crohn's disease.
00:51Five and a half years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I went through surgery,
00:58chemotherapy, radiotherapy and had a bit of a challenge getting back to full strength.
01:04I'm doing it with my friend Elaine. We've both been through breast cancer and we thought
01:09it would be a nice opportunity to do some fundraising and charity work for the hospice.
01:14I'm doing it as all those ladies that haven't been lucky to sort of be in remission and
01:20get the all clear and I'm one of those lucky ladies that has and my philosophy in life
01:25is live life to the most now because you kind of never know what's round the corner. I lost
01:30my husband about three years ago and I've lost a sister and I've lost my mum recently
01:36so yeah, life is all about living.
01:38It's such a great cause. I think after having a long time assessing my image and how I feel
01:48about my body since my cancer treatment, something like this that gives a huge amount of empowerment
01:54to women and a huge amount of confidence, it all made perfect sense to push the boundaries
02:01and come along.
