WVUE-TV CHANNEL 8 - LIVE AT FIVE, 7/9/1982

This was 2 months after WVUE became the latest New Orleans affiliate to launch a 5 PM newscast, with Live At Five.
Here, the late Ron Hunter (1938-2008) covers a rather devastating crash of Pan American flight 759 (New Orleans to Las Vegas) in Kenner, Louisiana. Logan Banks is the reporter on the scene.
Sad to say, ALL 145 PASSENGERS aboard PanAm flight 759 perished that afternoon, along with 8 poor souls on the ground. Lightning was at first cited for the reason the plane went down, but was later ruled out when it was revealed to having something to do with windshear.
