प्रयागराज, उत्तर प्रदेश: महाकुंभ में मौनी अमावस्या का विशेष महत्व है। महाकुंभ के दौरान एक महत्वपूर्ण स्नान पर्व है। इस स्नान को अमृत स्नान भी कहा जाता है। इसे मौनी अमावस्या इसलिए कहा जाता है, क्योंकि इन दिन साधु-संत और श्रद्धालु मौन व्रत रखते हैं और पूरे दिन मौन रहकर पूजा-पाठ और ध्यान करते हैं। इस महा-आयोजन में मौनी अमावस्या पर महाकुंभ के सबसे बड़े अमृत स्नान के लिए 10-15 करोड़ तीर्थ यात्रियों के लिए व्यवस्था की गई है। श्रद्धालुओं की सुविधा के लिए लंगर, रेन शेल्टर और बुनियादी सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराई गई हैं। देश दुनिया के कोने-कोने से संगम में आस्था की डुबकी लगाने के लिए श्रद्धालु यहां पहुंच रहे हैं।
