00:00As women, we often discuss how we are not just subject to the regular standards.
00:06We are also subject to even higher standards in what we wear and what we say and how we
00:11do our hair.
00:12Do you believe that that's evolving?
00:16I would hope and pray that this evolves.
00:19However, I will give you an example.
00:21Well, it's heartening to see the number of women leaders across the world today.
00:25I still think that we need to face issues that our male colleagues don't necessarily
00:29need to face.
00:31I can give you an example.
00:32I was in an interview with a prominent international news organization, and at the time we were
00:38talking about the crackdown on our party, the fear I had for my father's life in jail.
00:44This was his 2019 persecution against him, not to be confused with the 90s persecution
00:49against him.
00:51And at the end of the interview, I still get asked, what do you like to cook?
00:56So as women-
00:57What do you like to cook?
00:58But as women, we have to still prove today that yes, we can cook, we can clean, and we
01:04can lead.
01:05And we must simply have to endure and keep going.
