00:00It's only been 105 days since the election of 2025.
00:10The printing of balotas has been suspended.
00:15It's only been more than two months before the target deadline of the Commission on Elections in April.
00:20What is the process?
00:22Let's find out with the hot news brought to you by Ivan Myrina.
00:27What we have here is a restricted area.
00:31We have clearance from the Comelec to stay here and print from here.
00:36But all the people here, the Comelec employees, need to go through biometrics
00:44to be able to access this place.
00:48The printing process is not a joke.
00:51Because here, at any given time, there are 1,000 Comelec employees
00:58for different stages of printing, from verification,
01:03to checking if the printed balota is correct,
01:06and for all the processes, a lot of people are needed
01:10and all of them have restricted access to the National Printing Office.
01:15From the biometrics area, this is the printing area.
01:20As you can see, there are two big machines.
01:241.5 million balotas per day is the target of the National Printing Office
01:33because their schedule and their target is April 14.
01:39But we received an assurance from the NPO earlier
01:43that they can print more than 1,000 balotas per minute because of these machines.
01:53But of course, there are rejects, there will be squalled balotas
01:57if they don't pass the quality control and security markings.
02:02The National Printing Office assured that if necessary,
02:05there are spare machines that can be used to reach the target of 73 million balotas by April 14.
02:15The printed balotas will be brought to this area,
02:19where the balotas will be stacked.
02:23And from the stacking area,
02:27we can see here,
02:29we can only see it, it's closed.
02:32But there are ACMs, automated counting machines.
02:36The printed balotas will be passed to the ACMs one by one
02:40so that the measurements are correct and the machines won't be squalled.
02:46After the ACM testing, the balotas will be taken to the ceiling
02:52and it will be shipped to different precincts throughout the province.
