00:00Today, what we're trying to do is bring the ideas, the plans, the future developments
00:09possibly for this area, bring those to the people.
00:12So we're trying to bring it to the local community so they can come in and see everything that's
00:16available along here, and then make their own suggestions at the end of it.
00:20That's what our aim is, and we're really delighted so many people have turned up.
00:25It's been really, really good.
00:27The developer is looking to put in high-rise, high-quality development that is aimed more
00:34at out-of-towners and Airbnb.
00:36What we want to see is more social housing and more housing for people, professional
00:41people, to keep them in the area rather than losing them to somewhere else because they
00:44can't afford to live here.
00:47That's our aim.
00:48Our best scenario will be that housing is involved.
00:51That's what we really do need, but the right sort of housing, and what we want is still
00:56the links to the sea.
00:57This is the last possible area in the whole of the borough that can be used that's linked
01:04to the sea.
01:05We want to carry on that link.
01:06We want to bring the people down the promenade to our area and want them to enjoy the sea.
01:12So we're looking for things like shops, cafes, a link to movement along the cycle path, movement
01:19along the promenade.
01:22That's what we're aiming for.
