00:00We will fight, we will fight, we will fight, until we win, until we win.
00:06How are you, people of Malaysia, who are with us today?
00:11I am the Secretary-General of the Anti-Corruption People's Party.
00:14So today, I would like to say that it is easy for us to gather here today.
00:19We want to show that we are concerned about the current situation
00:22that the government is facing regarding anti-corruption issues.
00:25In the past, they were a very stern or strict government regarding anti-corruption issues.
00:29But now that they have become a government,
00:31because they have formed a coalition government for such a long time,
00:34the issue of anti-corruption issues is becoming less and less.
00:39And even though this is not what they mean or say,
00:42this is the public opinion at the time.
00:44And this is actually doubtful,
00:46because not only does the government seem uncommitted,
00:49but institutions such as our judiciary,
00:52such as the AGC, MSCC, and so on,
00:55are starting to be dominated by our own people.
00:57Because we see a trend,
00:58when a party becomes a government,
01:00it will be dominated by the opposition party.
01:02And when the opposition party becomes a government,
01:05then the opposition party will be dominated by the opposition party.
01:07And this is a trend that is still happening in the era of the Hope Alliance
01:10together with the current coalition government.
01:12So this is a very worrisome issue.
01:14So we have brought a proposal
01:17in which we think it is possible to address anti-corruption issues.
01:20There are three things.
01:21First, we demand that the AGC,
01:24the Attorney General's Chamber,
01:25be removed from the PMO, the Prime Minister's Office.
01:27Why?
01:28Because we want to prevent the AGC from acting
01:31under the influence of the executive.
01:35Second, we also demand that the MSCC
01:38be made a more free institution
01:40and also be given the power of investigation.
01:43And one form of this freedom
01:45is to put them under the parliament
01:47so that whoever is in charge of that party,
01:51be it the government or the opposition,
01:52but also the people.
01:54Third, we demand that the PFA be established,
01:57which is the Political Financing Act.
02:02We think that the PFA is the best medicine
02:05to avoid the misuse of power
02:08to get money in our country.
02:10Because the pattern is the same.
02:11Just like the issue of which government
02:13is against the opposition, the issue is the same.
02:15That is, certain parties, when they become a government,
02:18they will use their power
02:20to get money.
02:21Why is that money obtained?
02:23Only to move their party.
02:25So we don't want this issue to happen
02:28and we believe that the PFA is the best solution
02:31to address the issue.
02:33And besides that, we also want to say
02:35that this is not just our end.
02:38This is our beginning.
02:39This is a beginning for us to build a fresher wave.
02:43Before this, we always relied on cleanliness,
02:45with sound, with various other types of CSOs and NGOs.
02:49We believe that this time,
02:50there needs to be a new face in the students themselves
02:52who are born from us,
02:53to bring civil issues.
02:55Where we do not deny the role of cleanliness,
02:58we work together with them.
02:59That is why today we are divided into 50 groups,
03:01from the student movement from the north to Sabah.
03:04And also from NGOs and CSOs such as Bersih,
03:08there are also from PKP,
03:10from Harmony and also Ikram and so on.
03:13Political parties are also with us.
03:15So this is a form of manifestation
03:17that democracy in Malaysia is getting better,
03:19getting healthier.
03:20As we can see,
03:21the gathering was not affected much.
03:23So this is our demand.
03:24We will be more open to make a future agreement
03:28involving these three demands.
03:30And we hope that this secretariat will continue
03:33to move to help our people
03:35from a transparency point of view.
03:36What are the next steps for the three demands
03:38that you will submit to the government?
03:41Yes, that is one of the things we are thinking about right now.
03:43In the future, we will approach this issue more constructively.
03:46We have already demanded on the streets.
03:48Now it is time to bring this issue to a higher level,
03:51to the palace.
03:53But when?
03:55There is no time.
03:56We are not setting a time.
03:57Is there the same secretariat?
03:59No, this secretariat is only for this gathering.
04:04But in the future,
04:06we will not use this secretariat anymore.
04:08Unless it is necessary to gather.
04:16Long live the people!
04:18Long live the people!
04:20Long live the people!
04:22Long live the people!
04:24Long live the people!
04:26Long live the people!
04:28Long live the people!
04:30Long live the people!
04:32Long live the people!
04:34Long live the people!
04:36Long live the people!
04:38Long live the people!
04:40Long live the people!
04:42Long live the people!
04:44Long live the people!
04:48Long live the people!
