00:00And at this point, we will discuss an update on the programs of the current administration here in Mr. President on the go.

00:21First of all, fellow countrymen, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. acknowledged the important contribution of the Asian Development Bank or ADB to the development of the country.

00:31Particularly, the great help it provided during the COVID-19 pandemic.

00:36Our President Marcos Jr. personally received the outgoing ADB President, Masatsugu Asakawa, who made a farewell call in the palace of Malacanang on Thursday.

00:48According to our President, the contribution of ADB to the recovery of the Philippines is critical where the President believes that the situation of the Philippines would have been more difficult without it.

01:00The President also said that ADB is at the forefront of all foreign-assisted projects of the country.

01:09The President also expressed his intention to strengthen the partnership of the country with ADB.

01:15To acknowledge the continued support and service of ADB, President Marcos Jr. introduced Asakawa to the Order of Sikatuna, which has a rank of Datu Gold Distinction.

01:26Asakawa was invited to introduce his important effort to deepen the partnership and bilateral relationship between the Philippines and ADB.

01:36He was also invited to lead ADB to remain responsive to the needs and aspirations of future Filipinos, particularly in the areas of economic development, health, infrastructure, investment, climate resilience, and human capital development.

01:53On the other hand, President Marcos Jr. thanked Asakawa for agreeing to help him before his term ends.

02:01Asakawa served as ADB President for five years. He started his term on January 17, 2020.
