00:34In a statement, President Bongbong Marcos thanked the Sultan of Oman and his government
00:41for negotiating for the safe release of the Filipinos.
00:46Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Eduardo Vega also mentioned that this was not the first time
00:52that Oman helped the Philippines to free the Huthis.
00:56The Department of Migrant Workers also thanked Oman and other agencies
01:02for their support and for their strong and firm faith in the Filipino seafarers
01:08who trusted the government for their freedom.
01:12The freedom of the crew of the MV Galaxy Leader was well-received by the United Nations
01:17who said that the Huthi were on the right track.
01:20The UN is also urging the group to stop attacking sea vehicles.
01:25The invasion of the MV Galaxy Leader was just one of more than 100 Huthi attacks
01:31on ships passing through the Red Sea and nearby waters.
01:35Some of the ships carrying the Filipino seafarers were also included.
01:39In March of last year, the two Filipinos and three others were injured
01:44when the Huthi missile hit the MV True Confidence in the Gulf of Aden.
01:49One Filipino was still missing while 22 other Filipinos were saved by the group's attackers,
01:55the MV True Tors in the Red Sea last June.
01:58According to the Yemen-based Humanitarian Operations Coordination Center or HOCC,
02:03the Huthi group announced that they will limit their attacks
02:07on commercial vessels passing through the Red Sea
02:10following the recent ceasefire in Gaza.
02:13The Huthi said that only ships related to Israel will be targeted.
02:18On their behalf to the shipping industry officials,
02:21they will stop their attacks on commercial vessels
02:25or ships sailing beneath the waters of the United States and Britain.
02:28But they will attack again if there will be another ceasefire.
02:32The Huthi said that their attacks are a warning
02:36to the Palestinians affected by the war in Gaza.
