00:00So the storm, what is your main advice to people?
00:04So during the period of the red weather warning, my advice is not to travel.
00:09And does that mean everyone? Is there any exceptions where people feel they need to travel, that they could perhaps do that?
00:17My advice is, it's a red weather warning, it's extremely unusual, so during the period of that red weather warning, my advice is for people not to be travelling on the road network.
00:28And what should people expect as far as conditions compared to previous red warnings for central Scotland?
00:35So the red warning is for high winds, so clearly that's what we are expecting.
00:41So the result of that will be potentials for debris or trees to come down, so that's just some examples of what we're expecting.
00:52And are there particular parts of the transport network you're most concerned about?
00:57No, I think for me the reality is the advice is for all road users around not travelling, and that for me is really important that people heed that advice.
01:08And people might say, well it's just another warning, I'll be fine. How can you persuade people you really mean it this time?
01:19Well, it's a red weather warning which is unusual, so for me it's really important that people heed that advice for their safety and for the safety of others.
01:29Okay. I think this is the first of its type of red weather warning for Central Belt for about seven years, so do you think things are going to be a lot worse than they have been for a long time during the period of disruption?
01:44Well, I think as you said, the red warning is unusual and we need to take cognisance of that, so for me it's just that advice for road users not to use the road and to stay at home.
01:58And as far as the police is concerned, what's your plans for tomorrow and where you're going to be deploying your staff?
02:04Yes, so obviously we have plans in place in collaboration with our partners within Transport Scotland to make sure that we're prepared and ready for any eventuality.
