Après deux premières journées réservées aux sprinteurs, les choses sérieuses commençaient ce jeudi sur le Santos Tour Down Under, avec la 3e étape entre Norwood et Uraidla (147,5 km). Et nous avons assisté à une petite surprise, puisque c'est Javier Romo qui s'est imposé sur cette 3e étape ! L'Espagnol de la Movistar a piégé les favoris, en attanquant après le sommet de la dernière ascension de Knotts Hill (2,6km à 7,5%), à 5 kilomètres de l'arrivée... avant de réussir à contenir le groupe de poursuivant à une poignet de secondes. Il fête ainsi sa première victoire chez les professionnel, tout en prenant la tête du classement général !
