00:00So, have you talked to Snoop about whether your commutation was the reason for his turnaround?
00:12Because he did do a real turnaround and end up showing up at the inauguration.
00:16Well, of course we talked about it.
00:18I mean, Snoop was appreciative, just like I am and my family, for what Donald Trump
00:24did for me and my family by letting me out.
00:27But at the same time, Snoop is a non-political guy.
00:31I mean, he's America's favorite.
00:34And so, he didn't want to get mixed up into the politics.
00:37And so, he kind of kept who he felt should be the president to himself.
00:43And whoever became the president, he wanted to support them.
00:46I mean, that's just the way all Americans should view this.
00:49I believe that if we say that we want to be American citizens, then we have to go with
00:56the mandate.
00:57If American people have chosen President Donald Trump to be the president, then why
01:03are we still continuing to throw arrows at somebody that we can work with, that could
01:07change the trajectory of our lives and our communities, I mean, if that's what you really
01:14want.
01:15But I think Snoop Dogg has been an honorable guy.
01:17I mean, he didn't help the community, he didn't create a program where he spent his own money
01:23to help young men become professional after-leagues.
01:27And he's done a number of things, and using his own money.
01:30We haven't talked about that, where he didn't ask for sponsors, he did it himself.
01:35And so, for him to make a decision as a performer to perform, which is what his bread and butter
01:41is and what he's been trained to do, and now to be bastardized because he made a choice
01:48to do something, and to do it at the inauguration with our new president.
01:53You know, there were people who were flat out calling Snoop a sellout, in that he sold
01:58out not just himself, but hip-hop in general, by doing this.
02:02And I see Waka Flocka was there as well.
02:04I think Rick Ross was there.
02:05Rick Ross was there.
02:07Were you aware, I mean, did Snoop see or hear any of that?
02:12I mean, look, Snoop Dogg is very aware of what people are saying.
02:17To call a man a sellout, who one day, we've got 90 million followers, people who wake
02:23up to Snoop Dogg.
02:25And I just think it's a few people who have just decided that they're going to hate this
02:30new administration, and they're not going to give it a chance.
02:33And I come from the school of thought that if you don't get a seat at the table, then
02:38you're going to be the ones that they're feasting on.
02:42And we have to start looking at it like that.
02:45What are you going to do for four years?
02:46You're going to sit back and let the world move around you and not engage?
02:51That's what Community First is about.
02:53We are here trying to engage.
02:55We are here trying to push policies.
02:57And I just think that it's unfair what's happening to Nelly, what's happening to Snoop Dogg.
03:03But I just think that they did the right thing.
03:05I think that if you really want to make a change, you have to be at the table.
