00:00Well Jordan Taylor back with Wayne Taylor Racing but in a bit of new digs
00:04if you will this season under the Cadillac name this year with Wayne
00:07Taylor and Jordan's second season with the program but it's obviously a brand
00:11new kind of a re-updated if you will Cadillac that you'll be running here
00:17this season with the the GTP class so just talk about what it's been like
00:20learning the car early on and heading into these next two weeks with with the
00:24first race for Cadillac and Wayne Taylor back again. Yeah I mean for sure it's
00:29nice to be back with Cadillac and GM it's kind of where I've been my entire
00:32career back since 2011 so yeah we've had two days of testing back in November
00:38here at Daytona with the new Cadillacs and then quite a few days in the
00:41simulator kind of getting back up to speed before the season starts so I
00:45think we're in a good spot we were up in the in the in the shop you know checking
00:50out the cars in the build two weeks ago so teams very motivated and excited to
00:55get going and yeah I think everyone's you know done their homework and come
00:58prepared to this weekend at the Rohr. Yeah well you're no stranger to the
01:01brand and to GM as a whole this is a new venture for you and this is kind of a
01:06new learning process for you and the team how nice is it for one to have some
01:10guys who have experience like Alex and and also with with Will Stevens as well
01:14you got some guys who already have the Cadillac experience racing at Jota last
01:17year so or racing last year it with the Cadillac brand so how nice is it to have
01:22some of that experience get some of the pointers if you will you're kind of
01:24learning a new car here in the in 2025. Yeah it's been good obviously having
01:28Alex is super important to have that experience from last year when yeah you
01:32know we might say we want to do this with the car you can just tell us no
01:35like we've tried that doesn't work or yeah that's a good idea so he can kind
01:39of expedite our learning process a little bit from from what they've
01:42learned last year and yeah bringing Will in, Kamui and Brendan different
01:47manufacturers and then all the WTR guys being with a different manufacturer last
01:50year we can kind of bring all these different things to one point here with
01:54Cadillac now so I think there's a lot that we've we've learned and kind of put
01:58into this car already in the offseason and I think that kind of learning
02:01process is just gonna keep going and you know here at the Rohwer we've got three
02:05days even next week we've got a lot of test time so there's a lot of items we
02:09still need to get to but I think so far it's been you know a great process you
02:13know Wayne Taylor Racing has done a great job in the offseason working with GM and
02:16Cadillac to kind of understand the systems and the way they work it all
02:20works differently between the manufacturers so yeah I think we're
02:24excited to get going. Last year was a big year for Wayne Taylor Racing for you
02:27guys you the 40 got the win the 10 got the win you guys kind of researched if
02:31you will after 2023 still trying to kind of get your leggings if you will in
02:35terms of the Acura you know how do you build off of last season heading into
02:392025 you know it was a big year for you guys you guys got some
02:43pivotal wins for the team so how do you kind of use that as momentum hanging
02:47yeah I mean the team has had success you know every year they've been they've
02:52been in the sport so I'd say a couple years ago they had a little bit of a dip
02:55but they were always fighting for wins and it just didn't go their way so yeah
03:00last year thankfully a couple things went our way we got a couple wins but
03:03there were also many races where we felt like we were in contention for more wins
03:07so I think we were you know clicking and making the right decisions and strategy
03:12and on the racetrack you know most of the year last year and felt like we
03:15should have been more of a contender come the end of the year in the
03:18championship standings but things just didn't go our way so I think coming into
03:21this year yeah we've definitely got some more momentum on our side and way more
03:25motivation to kind of get some more success so hopefully that can start this
03:29week. GTP class is gonna be a pretty stellar lineup this year I mean it's the
03:33biggest class we've seen since the GTP class has been reintroduced just just
03:36talk about you know what it's like getting to see the growth of this class
03:40over the last couple years and now you had a Aston Martin coming in at Sebring
03:43you'll have Genesis coming in in a couple years so it's really becoming a
03:48very healthy class not only in terms of the lineups we're seeing but also in
03:52terms of the manufacturers that are also jumping into the series. Yeah it's great I
03:55think it's what everyone wanted obviously the GT class always gets a lot
03:59of manufacturer involvement but now the top class with GTP has all these
04:03different manufacturers coming from around the world so the manufacturers
04:07are great they're with great teams a lot of great driver lineups as well so when
04:11you kind of look at a grid like we have here at the Rolex you know like 90% of
04:15the grid can win the race so it definitely makes everyone's job a little
04:18bit harder but that's what makes the wins a little bit more sweet so yeah
04:22hopefully we can have you know a good couple weeks here and get the season
04:25started off on the right foot. I love it Jordan Taylor everybody and Jordan good
