00:00Well hello everyone here from Turf Moor, one of the most dramatic endings to a game of
00:06football that you'll ever see in your life. Wilson and Isidore missing two penalties to
00:09excellent saves from James Drafford and Isidore going the same way twice. And so overall I
00:14did not feel like this was a massive missed opportunity for Sunderland. They could have
00:17taken three points off a direct promotion rival away from home. It really feels like
00:21it would have lit their top two votes up really and we could have been moving forward with
00:26such positivity. I think we should still be though to be honest because I thought that
00:29it was as impressive as Sunderland's performance as I've seen since they returned to this level.
00:34Burnley started really well. I thought they exposed Sunderland in the wide areas and played
00:38some good diagonal passes. Sunderland needed Anthony Paterson to make some good saves to
00:41keep them in the game. They were definitely struggling but they started to get their press
00:45right and started to move the ball really well. And I thought what we saw from there
00:49was an excellent game of football in the second half. Burnley had one early chance when Zion
00:53Flemming missed a volley but from there on Sunderland were the better team. Brilliant
00:56bit of magic from Lefebvre on his debut. He set Eastdoor away when he hit the post.
01:00Really bold substitution from LeBruis to go and try and win all three points to put
01:04Mienda on. It was his quality that got Eastdoor away for the penalty. Mienda was then denied
01:08by an unbelievable block from CJ Reilly. One of the best pucks I've seen live. I thought
01:13Sunderland showed their promotion credentials. I thought they showed their quality. They
01:17matched Burnley 2-2 all the way through the game. Really cruel for Wilson Eastdoor. Really
01:21nice dutch there. He went to the away end to apologise and got a huge ovation. And rightly
01:25so because he's one of the main reasons Sunderland are in the position they are. Not just his
01:29finishing but his all-round work rate. Again, brilliant battle with Esteve who I think is
01:33an excellent player. I really hope that doesn't knock his confidence too much and that everyone
01:38gets behind him because he's got a huge part to play this season. As I say, a big part
01:41of the reason why Sunderland are up where they are. And hopefully he can get back running
01:45and up and running at Derby. Real big missed opportunity in the end. So much frustration
01:50from Sunderland's perspective. But hopefully when the dust settles a little bit we can
01:53take some perspective away about just how well they've played here and the quality of
01:57some of their football against a promotion favourite.
02:00Man of the match, I think there's probably a couple of contenders for me. I thought Mepham
02:04was really good but I would go for Luke O'Neill and Joe Bellingham as my two players of the
02:09match. I thought they were both excellent but in a huge shape and showed real quality.
02:12Credit to Paterson for his save as well. So lots of good performances and a lot for Sunderland
02:17to build on.
