Saif Ali Khan’s condition improving, shifted from the ICU to a special room

MUMBAI: A statement issued by Saif’s treating doctor In Lilavati said: “Saif Ali Khan's condition is stable... Saif's condition is improving... Saif is feeling better. He has been shifted to a special room. Shifted from the ICU to a special room...Visitors have been restricted from meeting him.” Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, said: "I was the first doctor who saw him first. Saif walked in like a lion. Taimur accompanied him. He's currently doing well. We have shifted him from the ICU to a special room." 00:00We told him in the release that he had four main wounds, which were a little deep, two in the hand, one on the neck, and the deepest and most dangerous was in the rear bone.

00:14A sharp object went into his rear bone. As sir told us, the Dura, the covering of the spinal cord, was touching the spinal cord, but it was not damaged.

00:26We operated and removed it, but the spinal fluid was leaking from there. Due to the repair, we are keeping him in bed rest for observation.

00:36But today's update is that he is doing excellent. Wounds are very good and there is nothing changed. He has no neurological deficit.

00:45We operated on him today. He was fit to shift to the room, so we took a decision to shift him to a special room in a while.

00:55I am not in a position to tell you the bills right now. Right now, there is just an estimate which has been asked by the doctors.

01:03Depending on the highest value, let's say 3-4 surgeries are done, these are all tentative values.

01:10Just to give an indication, the executive class surgeries and all, the actual bills will be shared with you. That's not an issue.

01:19And it's all transparency. Our hospital has everything fixed. You can see our tariff. Everything is there on the paper. It's there on tariff card.

01:29It is billed as per that. It is nothing that if there is a VIP, we will charge him extra.

01:34In this hospital, if you also stay in that particular room, then the charge that you can get, the same charge will be given to the chief physician.

01:43The category of room you choose, your charging is decided on that.

01:47Of course, after the trauma, when he came here, he was quite shocked. Anybody would be with so many injuries, blood flowing all around.

01:56And now after the surgery, and he is doing well, when he walks, he is quite happy.

02:01And the positivity which he had, the way he came as a tiger or a lion, whatever we say, very strong.

02:10And he's proven to be strong now. And that positivity really works for him. And we hope and pray to God.

02:17Mr. Saif Ali Khan is doing excellent. And we made him walk. He can walk well. There's no problem.

02:25There's no much pain or any other symptoms. So looking at his parameters, his wounds and all the other injuries,

02:36he is safe to be shifted out of the ICU to a special room.

02:41Only thing what we have advised and the rules for him that he has to take rest for some time because of the wounds on the back especially, which can have chances of infection.

02:57And his movements are restricted for a week almost for the most important reason that he had an injury in the spine and which has been repaired.

03:07The fluid which was coming out has been repaired, which has a potential chance for infection.

03:13That's why his movements and also the restriction of the movements as well as visitors' movements have been strictly restricted for his faster recovery.

03:26And he is doing excellent. And he is recovering very fast. And God is kind.
