Dave Helman from FOX Sports joined the Fan After Dark to talk all about the Cowboys & Mike McCarthy parting ways this week, if the delay in the decision will hurt the team's search for a replacement, and more.

00:00David, do you think that delay for a week and getting them out of some of the interview
00:19processes of the, you know, the Aaron Glenn's, the Ben Johnson's, the guys that are no longer
00:23to interview with, do you think that hurts them? Or do you think the pool that they're
00:26going for is not even in that, in that interview pool?
00:31Somehow I think both of those answers are correct. Like, I mean, I think it's silly.
00:35I think it does hurt them that they are now not able to talk to so many of these guys.
00:41I think like a team that was doing it by the book and, and crossing all their T's and dotting
00:48all of their I's and doing this efficiently and correctly, I think obviously that's bad.
00:55Like, you know, to not have access to Ben Johnson or Aaron Glenn or some of these other
00:59guys, not good. But at the same time, it's the Dallas Cowboys and they're going to do
01:05things a very specific way. I wrote about this today. You know, Jerry Jones has hired
01:10eight head coaches and seven of those have either a very proven track record of head
01:17coaching success, or they have a very personal relationship to the team and to Jerry and
01:25ownership. And so do I think the Cowboys need that extra time to hop on zoom calls with
01:32Ben Johnson? Not really, because I doubt that they're going to go that way. Now, maybe they
01:38should have a more all-inclusive turning over every stone hiring process, but that's not
01:45the world that we're living in. So I think it's bad that they cut themselves out of some
01:51of those conversations. But I also think it's kind of irrelevant.
