00:00Yeah, with regards to putting out the fires, we've heard from President-elect Donald Trump
00:05saying, quote, they just can't put out the fires, what's wrong with them, he said on
00:10Truth Social.
00:11I mean, we've got 8,500 firefighters on the ground.
00:15I'm sure they're doing their best.
00:16Some of them are in the air, I should add, as well.
00:19But this is one of the most devastating natural disasters in U.S. history.
00:23And clearly, putting them out, I mean, they'd put them out if they could, but this is a
00:26massive challenge.
00:27I mean, is that kind of rhetoric helpful coming from the President-elect, sort of
00:32suggesting that it's a simple task and they're not up to it?
00:36You know, I think what's frustrating to people like me and the President-elect Trump is that
00:41this is not the first wildfire.
00:43We do this every year.
00:44We've had devastating wildfires.
00:45The biggest wildfire was a few years ago in the state of California.
00:48And every time the federal government steps in to help and to give billions of dollars
00:53to recovery.
00:54But what the President-elect wants is he wants a change in policies.
00:57He gives this money over and he says, OK, but now you have to fix it.
01:01Now you've got to make sure this doesn't happen again.
01:03So here we are again in 2025.
01:06We have another season, wildfire season, and we still don't have water in the reservoirs.
01:12We still haven't managed the forest.
01:14We still haven't done the basic things.
01:15So yeah, it's very hard to put out a fire without water.
01:18It's very hard to do these things.
01:20So I think the President-elect is absolutely right to be critical of this of this government.
