00:00It looks like, for now, the 2025 Grammy Awards are going ahead as planned,
00:05despite the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles that have thrown the entertainment industry into
00:09chaos. In a letter addressed to its members, the Recording Academy announced that they have
00:14decided not to delay this year's ceremony, which is scheduled to take place on the 2nd of February,
00:19despite the ongoing disaster. In the note, execs from the group explain that they've already
00:23donated more than $1 million to support music creatives and professionals affected by the blazes
00:28and plan to use the big event itself to help raise further funds and to honor the bravery
00:34and dedication of the first responders who've been battling the flames.
00:37Plenty of other big music events have been pushed back, however. Back in December,
00:41Beyoncé teased that she had big news coming on the 14th of January, which many fans expect to
00:46be the announcement of her next world tour. However, just a day before the expected announcement,
00:51she took to Instagram to share that she would be holding off on the reveal indefinitely.
00:55Similarly, The Weeknd had planned to drop his next album, Hurry Up Tomorrow,
00:59and hold a massive concert to promote it on January 24th, but also shared on social media
01:04that out of respect and concern for the people of Los Angeles, he has cancelled the show
01:09and delayed the record's arrival until the 31st of the month.
