On this Makar Sankranti, I pray to the Sun God to make my wish of making my own kite with newspaper and burnt sticks come true, and that I get to fly it at least once in my lifetime. I always wanted to fly kites during my childhood, but my cousin brothers would only let me hold the **manja** (string), making me stand behind them and just watch. Even now, I still wish to fly my own kite.
